The Devastating Truth about the Obama Health Plan

As I wrote in a recent article, on July 26, 2000, the Journal of the American Medical Association published a landmark paper by Barbara Starfield (Johns Hopkins School of Public Health), “Is US health really the best in the world?” In it, Starfield revealed what many people inside the medical establishment already knew: every year, like clockwork, the medical system was killing huge numbers of people.
Each year in the US, as Dr. Starfield reported, there are:
12,000 deaths from unnecessary surgeries;
7,000 deaths from medication errors in hospitals;
20,000 deaths from other errors in hospitals;
80,000 deaths from infections acquired in hospitals;
106,000 deaths from FDA-approved correctly prescribed medicines.
The total of medically-caused deaths in the US every year is 225,000.
This makes the medical system the third leading cause of death in America, behind heart disease and cancer.
In the wake of Starfield’s devastating report, other facts came to light: 2.1 million people in America, every year, are hospitalized as a result of reactions to FDA-approved medicines. Annually, 36 million serious adverse reactions to those drugs occur.
So, inclusive health coverage for many more Americans under the Obama Plan means these horrendous figures will rise.
This is the dirty secret.
Obama and his allies are promoting a medical system that is the third leading cause of death in America. It’s that stark and it’s that simple.
The Obama Plan involves appointing an “expert panel” to decide what treatments Americans should be given for what diseases, under the new regime.
Only a certified idiot would assume that, over time, alternative non-mainstream therapies would survive such an ongoing vetting. Hope may spring eternal, but common sense makes it easy to grasp the realities on the ground.
In the long run, alternative therapies will be edged out. Those that remain will be permitted for a narrow range of conditions, or as adjuncts to standard drug treatments and surgery.
Chiropractors and acupuncturists, who are temporarily basking in the notion that Obama “really cares,” are in for a very rude awakening down the line. Their careers and practices will be significantly reduced. Not today, not tomorrow, but it will happen.
There is also the strong possibility that doctors, under the Plan, will be telling patients they may not take nutritional supplements while in treatment. This will assume the status of an irreversible edict. In certain cases, “while in treatment” means years.
What happens to a person, conscripted into the mandated Plan, who is told by his doctor that he should/must receive a vaccine? Suppose this person says no? What are the consequences? Will he then be labeled a defector? What penalties will he suffer?
Does a diagnosis of cancer imply a patient must submit to chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery? Can these treatments be forced upon him?
Perhaps, in the early days of the Plan, nothing untoward will happen. But then, as time passes, and the system assumes tighter and tighter controls, the hand of government will close around the recalcitrant patient’s neck.
Doctors, who are an integral part of the Plan, will surely be punished if they give unapproved (alternative) treatments to patients.
And in order to make the Plan operate on a day-to-day basis, the records and bookkeeping data of every health-care practitioner in America will eventually be tracked on government computer networks.
Every person in America will have a traceable medical ID package. There is no way around it. The monitoring apparatus can’t work without it.
Orwellian consequences lie up the road in the field of psychiatric practice. In case you hadn’t noticed, the invention of “disorders” by committee is the preferred method for “discovering” more and more mental illnesses.
Yet, the science is completely fraudulent. For evidence, consult the many works of psychiatrist Peter Breggin, who has done more than any other person to expose the guts of his own profession. Breggin establishes that mental disorders cannot be authoritatively diagnosed by a chemical or biological test. Conclusive tests do not exist. And worse, in this undefined and arbitrary territory, the drugs that follow diagnoses are killers. For example, 300,000 cases of motor brain damage, as a result of the administration of major tranquilizers.
Under the Obama Plan, you can bet your bottom dollar that psychiatric care will eventually become mandatory. A patient suddenly diagnosed with clinical depression or bipolar disease will be told he must take the drugs—and suffer their adverse effects.
Very young children will be given more and more debilitating and dangerous brain drugs.
Under the Obama Plan, it will be very convenient to declare new pandemics every few seasons, because these phony non-epidemics provide an opportunity to herd the sheep into clinics and remind them who is running the show. Go here, take this vaccine; go there, take that drug; the epidemic is endangering the herd, and you must help your brothers and sisters.
These are the figures on the last several “epidemics.” They are not yearly; they are grand totals, to date; global totals, except in the case of West Nile (US only):
SARS: 774 deaths.
WEST NILE: 1159 deaths.
BIRD FLU: 262 deaths.
SMALLPOX: (terrorist threat): 0 deaths.
SWINE FLU: 7909 deaths.
To give perspective, 250 thousand to 500 thousand people die of ordinary flu-like illness every year.
Yet this astounding death rate accrues no interest as an epidemic. It is only the “teaching (brainwashing) moments” of the phony epidemics that are promoted by health agencies (e.g., CDC and WHO) and their pharmaceutical allies, who rake in billions by manufacturing new vaccines.
Yes, under the Obama Plan, there will be more declared health emergencies, and they will serve to cement the citizen to his new role as eternal patient in the medical march along bleak streets of the future.
Can you perceive the loss of individual freedom implicit in this universal system of health control?
Sources and comments: I’m fully aware that people reading the facts in this essay will be shocked, and they will have doubts. Here are the sources for those facts. Things are not what they seem.

On January 8, 2001, the LA Times ran a piece by Linda Marsa on the effects of medical drugs in the US. Predictably, the story sank like a stone. It provoked no Congressional hearings, no arrests.
The article described, in a few key paragraphs, a world of trouble. Adverse medical events. From med drugs.
"A 1998 University of Toronto study found that roughly 100,000 Americans die of adverse [medical-drug] reactions each year, and 2.1 million more are hospitalized."
Marsa offered, in her Times article, a quote from an associate professor of medicine at Harvard, Dr. David Bates, an author of a 2000 study on drug effects. The study found that "18 percent of patients complained of drug-related complications," Marsa wrote.
Here is the quote from Dr. Bates: "People often have [drug-caused] symptoms for months, but they're either reluctant to let their doctor know or they weren't sure if they just felt lousy...But these numbers translate to 36 million adverse drug events per year."
To add up the death totals from recent phony epidemics:

To confirm that every year, between 250,000 and 500,000 people die from ordinary flu, see WHO Fact Sheet No.211, Influenza (Seasonal).
Read Dr. Peter Breggin’s classic, Toxic Psychiatry, St. Martin’s Press, 1991. Follow Breggin’s argument, through several chapters; labeled mental disorders are not based on factual biological evidence; and see p.89-91 for evidence that at least 300,000 people are suffering from brain damage (tardive dyskinesia) as a result of being administered major tranquilizers.
Founded in 1992, the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM), a minor bureau of the National Institutes of Health (a federal agency), has managed to derail, stall, and divert the progress of real alternative medicine. It has forwarded no breakthroughs. It has bogged itself down in conferences, reports, and committee deliberations. It has fooled a number of so-called alternative-health advocates into believing that the federal government supports non-mainstream health strategies.
Imagine what will happen when healthcare in this country becomes centralized to a much greater degree under the Obama Plan. If this one tiny agency, NCCAM, can now befuddle the alternative field with a collection of inept and self-seeking bureaucrats, gargantuan power held at the top of the federal government will make that diversion look like a raindrop in a hurricane.
The history of the decline of infectious disease is a history of improved sanitation, an alleviation of overcrowding, the rise of the middle class, and above all, the betterment of nutrition. This decline in disease occurred before the introduction of antibiotics and widespread vaccination. Under massively centralized medical care, in an environment where chemically saturated agri-business grows our food in depleted topsoil, there is a greater and greater need for nutritional supplements. But this vital avenue will be narrowed and blocked in the ways I have indicated above. (See Ilich, Medical Nemesis.)
Last but not least, medical-research fraud continues unabated, an out-of-control rampant crime.

This street musician was playing classical guitar, I have seen him playing many times around town center. He plays very well and my husband often drops coins in his guitar case.
( - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said this week that thanks to the new health-care reform law, musicians and other creative types could quit their jobs and focus on developing their talents because taxpayers would fund their health care coverage.
“We see it as an entrepreneurial bill,” Pelosi said, “a bill that says to someone, if you want to be creative and be a musician or whatever, you can leave your work, focus on your talent, your skill, your passion, your aspirations because you will have health care.”
Pelosi made the remarks while speaking at the Capitol on Wednesday to the Asian American and Pacific Islanders Summit.

Obamacare is a socialist law designed to take money from some Americans and use it to benefit others. The health care bill signed into law by President Obama is full of hidden time bombs. One costly provision buried in the lengthy reconciliation bill at the last minute has taxpayers covering long-term at-home care for the elderly. Through the so-called Community Living Assistance Services and Support Act (CLASS Act), Americans will find between $150 and $250 taken out of their paychecks each month to cover this program nobody knew about.
Democrats claim this isn't a controversial program, but if they really believed that, they wouldn't have had to sneak the provision into the reconciliation bill. But it was snuck in the reconciliation bill only two days before the House vote.
Even some Democrats warned about the financial impact of the home-care program. Before the idea was dropped last year because of stiff opposition, Sen. Kent Conrad, a North Dakota Democrat who is chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, called the program a Ponzi scheme that would produce massive deficits in the future. A letter released at that time by Mr. Conrad and Democratic Sens. Mary L. Landrieu of Louisiana, Evan Bayh of Indiana, Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas, Ben Nelson of Nebraska and Mark Warner of Virginia warned: "While the goals of the CLASS Act are laudable - finding a way to provide long-term care insurance to individuals - the effects of including this legislation in the merged Senate bill would not be fiscally responsible for several reasons."
The senators were particularly concerned that the Congressional Budget Office numbers missed the real costs of the program. The CBO is instructed only to consider the fiscal impact over the next 10 years, but the way the scheme is set up, people must pay the additional taxes for at least five years to become eligible. So for the first five years we only see revenue. After that, the taxpayers are eligible only gradually. They must then become old enough to require home health care, so expenditures will occur in the distant future. In other words, we see taxes with no expenditures upfront, but huge expenditures picking up after the CBO's 10-year evaluation window passes.
The budget concerns of a handful of Democratic senators kept the program out of the earlier version of the health care bill, which passed the Senate before Christmas. If the provision hadn't been removed, Democrats wouldn't have obtained the 60 votes needed to break the filibuster. Only by jamming it into the Senate reconciliation bill in March were they able to get it passed with the bare minimum 51 votes.
Ironically, the reconciliation procedure, requiring only a simple majority, was originally designed to help reduce the deficit. It certainly was not meant for circumventing normal procedures and throwing in last-minute budgetary land mines.
Democrats might not consider $109 billion in taxes over the program's first 10 years to be controversial. But taking $150 to $250 out of each monthly paycheck will cause problems for millions of Americans. This is yet another example of Mr. Obama breaking his promise not to raise taxes on those making less than $250,000 per year. It's not what we consider a very classy act.
Doctors, surgeons sue, saying health care reform is unconstitutional

A national group representing doctors and surgeons filed suit over the new health care reform legislation, saying it “spells the end of freedom in medicine” in the U.S.
The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) wants the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) to be overturned, according to its suit filed March 26 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
“If the PPACA goes unchallenged, then it spells the end of freedom in medicine as we know it,” said Jane Orient, a doctor and the executive director of AAPS, in a statement. “Courts should not allow this massive intrusion into the practice of medicine and the rights of patients.”
The suit is the third to be filed against the legislation in just its first week. Shortly after President Barack Obama signed the bill into law last week, a cadre of attorneys general, mostly Republican, filed suit, arguing that the mandate that every individual buy coverage is unconstitutional. Virginia’s attorney general, Ken Cuccinelli, filed a similar suit on behalf of the commonwealth.
The AAPS agrees in its suit that the individual mandate is unconstitutional and also argues that use of the 10th Amendment regarding taxation is unconstitutional.
“Insurance company executives will be enriched by this requirement, but it violates the Fifth Amendment protection against the government forcing one person to pay cash to another,” she said.
The AAPS also argues the law violates the Tenth Amendment, the Commerce Clause, and the provisions authorizing taxation. “The taxing and spending power cannot be invoked, as the premiums go to private insurance companies,” the group said in the statement.
“The traditional sovereignty of the states over the practice of medicine is destroyed” by the reform legislation, the group added.
The AAPS said that in determining the cost of the legislation, the Congressional Budget Office was bound by assumptions imposed by Congress, including the ability to “save” $500 billion in Medicare, and to redirect $50 billion from Social Security.
The group, which forecasts “dire shortage of physicians” will result from the legislation, wants the court to enjoin the government from promulgating or enforcing insurance mandates. It also wants the court to force U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Social Security Commissioner Michael Astrue to provide “an accounting of Medicare and Social Security solvency,” according to its statement.
Court action is necessary “to preserve individual liberty” and “to prevent PPACA from bankrupting the United States generally and Medicare and Social Security specifically,” the AAPS statement said.

If you are a Republican, or one of their supporters you already know you are being painted by members of the Obama administration as a redneck, extremist, yada, yada, yada.
But in the latest Dem diatribe, you have eyes that get, well, all..”crazy like”.
“Democrats extend health care to 32 million people, and how do Republicans react? Their eyes get all crazy-like. They throw fits. They vow repeal. And they will track down every Democratic member of Congress like bloodhounds on the chase.” So writes Paul Begala of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC).
Can’t you almost hear the baying of the bloodhounds chasing Dem Senators and their media puff pastry buds down to the nearest Starbucks for another relaxing latte?
“Look,” writes Begala in his latest diatribe, “we didn’t fight all these years for health care reform to see it dismantled by a radio blowhard, a bunch of regressive Republicans and an angry mob of right wingers.
“But their rhetoric will only grow more dangerous and threaten President Obama’s accomplishments and future agenda. So when that FEC deadline comes Wednesday at midnight, we as Democrats need to show our post-healthcare strength.”
Take that, you serfs! Because name calling seems to be the best post-healthcare strength of the Dems.
Their singsong cross-the-schoolyard na-na-nas, may be aimed at the Repubs, but it is your $5 they need to keep the bully fight going. Their goal is $117,260 on a deadline of March 31—one sawbuck at a time. Back to “crazy-like eyes, Begala.
“On the Senate floor, Judd Gregg compared health care reform to not only a “huge asteroid”, but a huge asteroid that will “land on our children’s heads.” Rep. John Boehner ranted at the top of his lungs until his face turned beet red. Glenn Beck cried. And “tyranny” and “socialism” are hot new topics on Twitter. I’ve gotta ask: What is WRONG with these people?”
And we’ve gotta answer: “These people” are feeling swindled, raped, used and thrown away with their Constitution, Mr. Begala.
But the Dems, masters at name calling names then turning the tables around to give themselves victim status, don’t hear anything but what they want to hear.
Rants Begala: “I haven’t heard such claptrap from the Republicans since they said President Clinton’s economic plan would be “a one-way ticket to a recession.” They were wrong about Clintonomics, which balanced the budget while creating 23 million new jobs and lifting millions out of poverty. And they’re just as wrong about Obamacare, which, at its heart, just means a family doctor for every family.”
Make that a family doctor roped and chained, dispatched to do the government’s bidding whenever it chooses. That is if there are enough sawbones left to round up for forced slave labour.
All of this seems to be giving Paul Begala and his comrades sleepless nights.
In his own words: “And if you think it couldn’t possibly get any worse, just wait. The lies will only get more airplay now that corporations can spend unlimited money for candidates. (emphasis Paulie’s). “Special interests are already spending more than $800,000 per day to kill President Obama’s agenda. This number will only grow.
At least he got that right.
“It might be laughable—if it weren’t so dangerous. This election will determine the future of everything we’ve accomplished. Do we stand with President Obama and his progressive vision? Or do we let crazy conservatives destroy everything?
“Do we stand with President Obama and his progressive vision?
The answer is simple: Yes, because if you don’t, Rahm Emanuel will get you in the curtain-less congress shower!
Begala concludes by accusing Republicans of wanting “to drag this country kicking and screaming into the 19th century.”
Better there than into the darkness and repression of Socialism.
“Reconcile,” as Defined by Progressives
ObamaCare: The undoing of civilized reconciliation as we know it

A popular on-line dictionary defines the word reconcile thusly:
“To bring into agreement or harmony; make compatible or consistent: to reconcile differing statements; to reconcile accounts”
Harmony, agreement, compatible, and consistent? Really?
Honestly now, how often did those terms come to mind during the “reconciliation” process that Progressives used to pass health care reform?
In fact, the Obama-Pelosi-Reid Democracy wrecking crew did their level best to avoid reconciliation with any position that was outside the Marxist ideal.
Mind you, diversity is still the Holy Grail of Liberalism, except for health care which was so urgent that only the narrowest of Marxist definitions was permitted.
Reconcile, when used by Progressives, is the formal process of legislative manipulation designed to achieve a controversial objective despite widespread opposition among the governed, when the issue at hand is of such gravity as to render the principles of rule of law and democratic governance necessarily subservient to the immediate wishes of the elitist governing class, so-called Progressives.
To reconcile according to the Progressive definition, means to cajole, bribe, deceive, obstruct, dismember, attack, slaughter, lie, misrepresent, deny, extort, slander, obscure, hide, execute, mischaracterize, sabotage, and any and all other acts of sleight-of-hand chicanery and tom foolery as may be needed to achieve one’s Marxist objective and to make said accomplishment appear to be the will of the people.
Antonyms include open, honest government, integrity, rule of law, Constitutional, fair, decent, democratic, representative, equality, and American.
An excellent example would be the process of “reconciling” one’s bank statement. Under normal circumstances, one would compare all of the entries recorded in one’s private records to those generated by the banking institution.
Differences are reconciled, which means to determine the reasons for those differences and to make or request that correcting entries be made to either one’s private records of those of the bank in order to achieve harmony and balance.
However, were one to use the Obama-Pelosi-Reid formula for reconciliation, the first step would be to select the desired account balance, irrespective of the actual sum. Incidentally, the desired balance will always be greater than the actual.
Next, one would pretend that the bank records were in error and irrelevant. Need an extra $15, meet your obligations this month?
No problem, if you are a Progressive. Simply pretend that the bank records are wrong and continue to write checks as if that extra $15,000 were in your account. And pretend that the bank agrees with your numbers!
What happens when the checks start to bounce because of your “creative” bookkeeping?
Again, no problem. Simply blame the bank for failure to properly fund your account and apply for a government backed bailout.

It never ceases to amaze this author on how the American people just lay down and play dead when a law is passed, no matter how egregious or unconstitutional the law may be. We moan and groan that our leaders are corrupt and don’t listen to us, but very seldom, on a grand scale, do we take our leaders to task for their misdeeds and their vastly exceeding constitutionally enumerated powers.
Very seldom do we take our protests to where they live. Very seldom do they pay a price for their arrogance and corruption, except at the ballot box. And if they are retired by the voters, they retire with a full salary pension, paid for by the taxpayers, with benefits very few Americans obtain at their retirement. Other than the ones who are caught for their crimes and go to jail, most get off scot-free.
Most hold their political offices far too long. Excessive terms in office lead to entrenchment, corruption and an eventual disconnect from the electorate. Representative government goes out the window with tenure.
But let’s return to the issue at hand, ObamaCare that has now become law. Yes, there are multiple legal challenges from state attorneys general. But even if these cases were to prevail, the wheels of justice take way too long for justice to ever be served and justice at the U. S. Supreme Court level, is many times, suspect. By the time any of these multiple state cases, that will eventually be combined into one case, reach the U. S. Supreme Court, much of the ObamaCare damage will have already taken place.
Billions of new taxes will be collected. If the bill is overturned on constitutional grounds, will the collected taxes be returned to the taxpayer? Not likely!
Millions of new enrollees into the health care system will have overwhelmed the system.
Millions of illegal aliens will be drawing benefits off of ObamaCare. An abomination to every legal American.
Tens of thousands of doctors and nurses will escape the chaos being brought to health care and the government-enforced reduction of their income, leaving the existing doctors, nurses and over-burdened hospitals, to handle millions more cases. An all-out brain drain will occur as health care providers seek greater financial opportunities elsewhere, commensurate with their skills, or retire altogether. Health errors and mistakes will increase dramatically. People will die from those mistakes. Health care in general will become mediocre and sloppy. The Hippocratic oath of “do no harm”, will evaporate.
Insurance companies will go out of business with the double whammy of having to insure more people with greater health risks and the government lock on insurance premiums. The profits on health insurance are already very low. Anything that erodes those profits will drive insurance companies out of business and in the end, result in a single-payer, government-run health care system, the dream of Obama and all the other progressives.
Employers will dump their group health insurance onto the government and pay the fines, as the fines will be cheaper than administering the constant headaches of employee health care, eventually leading to a single-payer system.
States will go deeper into debt as the costs of insuring the un-insured through Medicaid will skyrocket. Most states are already broke.
Scamming the system will increase, along with waste, fraud and abuse and government will be powerless to stop it. Government’s promise to clean up waste, fraud and abuse is so hollow, as to be essentially meaningless.
Cheating on taxes will increase and compliance with an already convoluted, complex and wholly insane income tax system, will decrease dramatically.
Lawsuits by special interest groups who claim the government is not complying with the new 2,700 page law, will clog the courts and the settlement amounts to those groups will be in the billions, just like what the environmental groups have been and are doing with environmental legislation.
Taxes will have to be jacked up across the board, as the costs of national health care go out of sight. A national sales tax will be implemented within one to two years, as the promise of a revenue-neutral, government health care system, is exposed as the bald-faced lie that it is.
Finally, government will be so intrusive into people’s lives that any semblance of freedom and liberty will be but a pied piper’s pipe dream. Freedom will have died in the year 2010.
But worse than all this, millions of Americans will now believe that health care is a right and will gather together by the millions to lobby government to continue their largess, on the backs of the taxpayers.
All this and more, will descend on what was once the best health care system on the planet. These are the unintended consequences of nationalizing the American health care system by an out-of-control, arrogant and corrupt government, now in the hands of sixties radicals.
As bad as this health care picture is, there are ways to bring it to an immediate halt. We shall describe three solutions here. If they were implemented immediately and across the board, ObamaCare would go the way of the dodo bird.
1. As Walgreens and Rite Aid are already doing in Washington State, pharmacies across the country need to stop taking any more Medicare and Medicaid patients ...... period.
2. Every health care insurer in America needs to put a freeze on insuring any new groups or individuals.
3. All private general practitioners and health care specialists need to cease accepting any new Medicare and Medicaid patients and doctors should declare a one-week holiday from any and all surgeries. If they did the one-week “surgery holiday” just before the November 2010 election, the wrath of the American voter against the Democrats would be unprecedented and overwhelming.
These are drastic measures but they would bring the “ObamaCare Building” down in months, instead of years. If these solutions did not work, the only thing left for Americans is to elect all new conservative legislators at every level of government and repeal the legislation. If that doesn’t work, then we will be forced to resort to whole sale resistance to all government authority. Because what is left, if none of this works, is unthinkable.
The question is, will there be a large enough commitment to these solutions by those in the health care industry, or by tens of millions of Americans on a grand scale, to return America to some sense of sanity and stability? It all depends on the level of passion and the strong desire to reclaim our liberty at any cost, that is running through the American psyche right now, as the result of a massive fundamental transformation of America by those who seek its downfall.

Most Americans do not want the federal government in any way involved in their health care, much less in charge of their health care. Most Americans prefer private sector solutions to daily challenges and have come to have no faith in the federal government to do anything right, after a long history of government doing things wrong.
As the CBS poll clearly confirms, more than 70% of Americans oppose ObamaCare in any form. They oppose the criminal methods used to strong arm the nation into socialized medicine behind closed doors even more.
The morning after Pelosi railroaded America in her House subversion of the constitution, CBS reported that Democrat approval ratings had hit a new low.
Nancy Pelosi’s approval rating had slipped to only 11% and Harry Reid’s approval rating was bottoming out at only 8% approval. They are officially the most unpopular congress in U.S. history, on the morning after their “historic” assault on U.S. freedom and liberty.
The National Writers Syndicate explains in detail why so many Americans have such a low opinion of the Democrat controlled congress.—“In point of fact we will increase the deficit by $2.4 Trillion dollars, and to try to pay for all of this pie in the sky there will be $500 Billion dollars worth of cuts in Medi-Care, along with substantial tax increases and reductions in Medic-Aid (read that rationing) there is a whole lot more we could go into but it would take up too much space and make steam shoot out of your eyes, ears, nose, and throat.”
Even the New York Times wants to make certain that every member of congress responsible for this unconstitutional act be on-record. It reads like crib notes for who to fire in November.
Thirteen states Attorney Generals filed suit on the same day Obama signed the new bill into law, with many other states looking to join that suit over the coming days. For this effort to succeed, we need 38 states to join that suit before it reaches the Supreme Court, which means American patriots have a lot of work to do in their home states.
Numerous states are rushing to pass a Health Freedom Act rejecting ObamaCare at their state lines under their Tenth Amendment right to tell the federal government where to go when the Fed reaches beyond its scope of authority in a heavy handed act of tyranny.
Senator Jim DeMint (R) instantly filed a bill to repeal the new law before the ink was even dry. - “All of this was done in the face of overwhelming public opposition and bipartisan opposition in Congress,” DeMint wrote in a USA Today op-ed. “This process has been an insult to our democracy.”
The problem is much bigger than Health Care in America. We have a runaway government acting at odds with the vast majority of citizens, via unconstitutional and unethical processes, moving the nation away from freedom and liberty and towards Marxism, at an alarming pace…
The U.S. federal government controlled only 13% of the U.S. economy when Obama took office a short fourteen months ago. Today, after consuming the auto industry, the bank and investment industry, the insurance industry and the health industry, the Fed will control roughly 50% of the U.S. economy.
For those who don’t know how to properly interpret such a massive maneuver, I refer you to Obama’s base of support, the Democratic Socialists of America

This is the “social justice” and “spreading of wealth” that Obama promised during his campaign in 2008. He has kept that promise to, as Marx put it, - “Take from some according to their ability, and give to others according to their needs.”
Obama has advanced the international socialist ball in a BIG way and the vast majority of American citizens are scrambling to figure out what to do about it.
For any federal law to be “constitutional,” it must meet this minimum standard…
It must be within the limited federal powers enumerated in the Constitution
It must enjoy the support of the vast majority of “the governed,” from which all federal powers are derived
It must not infringe upon the individual rights of any citizen
It must not infringe upon the rights of any state, protected by the Tenth Amendment.
It must become law by way of legal legitimate legislative process
Obama’s Health Care treachery violates all five of these standards and as a result, it cannot be allowed to stand. This is about much more than health care.
This is about a government allegedly of, by and for the people. A government which acts against its people cannot be a government of, by and for the people. That government is beyond broken - it is “unconstitutional” at its core.
Such a government has become “destructive” towards the very fundamental purpose of that government, to secure the unalienable individual right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
” - whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”
The people are not safe living under a government that operates with such little regard for the Law of this Land, the US Constitution.
What Democrats (socialists) did on their own, against the will of the vast majority of American citizens, cannot stand. If it is allowed to stand, then the people and their states have allowed their nation to be stolen by a relatively small cabal of Chicago thugs operating beyond the scope and authority granted them by the governed.
This is about much more than health care. This is about an overtly tyrannical government hell-bent upon altering the fundamental American foundations and shoving citizens into a future of slavery, in which their right to earn and own property no longer exists.
The people must find a way to unite and fight this tyranny, or they will doom all future generations to a life of communal servitude and equal indigence.
Communism and socialism have failed everywhere they have been tried. America cannot survive these principles either.
The Obama administration has acted far beyond its limited powers, and the people have only a limited opportunity to reverse it all and block further erosion of the American ideals. May God bless those willing to stand, unite and fight for freedom.

There is no question in my mind that I have lived long enough to see everything the nation once stood for in our own eyes and in the eyes of the world begin to disintegrate and fail.
John Adams, for those who slept through history class, was America’s second president, and one of the Founders who participated in the writing of our Constitution. If you worry about deals made behind closed doors, you are herewith reminded that the Constitution was written behind closed doors. Though the room in Philadelphia had its share of lawyers, the man who presided over the process was a soldier and farmer called George Washington. Others included farmers, physicians, and even clergymen.
Along with Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, the sharpest mind among them was that of John Adams. After the ratification of the Constitution, he warned that “a Constitution of government once changed from freedom can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever.”
The healthcare bill is freedom lost forever. I hope I am wrong, but I now doubt it will be repealed, nullified by the states, or reversed by the Supreme Court. While it is true that most constitutional scholars believe it is unconstitutional, taking and twisting the Commerce clause beyond recognition, I believe the damage has been done.
I freely admit that, before the vote, I remained hopeful that, even if enacted and signed, it could be overturned, but I am now less confident of that. In retrospect, the entitlement society that began in the depths of 1930s Great Depression and has been expanded ever since has proven to be the slow poison that will undo our constitutional system of government.
Conservatives have long warned against the excesses and delusions of liberals, but we have also seen self-identified conservatives like former President George W. Bush preside over the expansion of Medicare with a prescription program that defied any manner of funding at a time when Medicare and Social Security was known to be going broke.
In 2005, Bush did try to mend the system for the vast redistribution of wealth by campaigning to allow workers to divert some of their Social Security into private accounts as a hedge against old age and illness. When Nancy Pelosi said this was a plan to unravel public pensions, the voters decided they didn’t like that idea.
I confess I have tried in my mind to dismiss the Speaker of the House as just some lunatic, fringe advocate for liberalism run amuck, but like a lot of Republicans today, it is clear that she was underestimated (along with the Senate’s Harry Reid) for her political skills.
She engineered a political victory that has not only restored President Obama’s reputation as a leader on the domestic front, but has set in motion the destruction of America’s frail financial foundations.
Few believe that the U.S. can continue to borrow the billions necessary to maintain Social Security and Medicare. The alternative, of course, is to tax all Americans to such an extent that it destroys the middle class and drives more corporations offshore.
Speaker Pelosi ate, drank, and breathed Democrat politics from birth. Her father, Thomas D’Alesandro was a congressman and mayor of Baltimore. Her brother was also a mayor of Baltimore. She made her first public speech at age seven at her father’s swearing in ceremony.
I opened with a quote by John Adams and will close with one by Thomas Jefferson:
“I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.”
Americans, however, have long since abandoned the principles of the Constitution, a small and limited central government, for a behemoth that now controls our very lives through a bill that vastly expands the federal government and gives it the power to intervene between our physicians and ourselves.
We have been betrayed by an insurance industry that will be happy to rid itself the high risk and costly need to provide health insurance while continuing to prosper from life, property, and other forms. We have been betrayed by the pharmaceutical companies now salivating at the prospect of future profits funded by the taxpayers. The American Medical Association supported healthcare reform; a betrayal.
Even the States, many of which now want to protect themselves from even greater unfunded mandates, have long since abandoned their sovereignty by allowing the federal government to control education, highways, environment, and a myriad of other local responsibilities.
None of the institutions of government, not the executive, not the Congress, and probably not the courts will uphold a Constitution now distorted beyond recognition. Despite the usual talk of a new revolution, of midterm elections to return power to the Republican Party, the People are essentially defenseless.
Tell me I am wrong. Then tell me why.

Democrats made history all right this weekend, but not the kind they think they voted for. While they may actually believe their healthcare bill will usher in some sort of new golden age in which Americans, immigrants and unicorns live together in perfect harmony, back in the real world the only things their monstrous healthcare bill will accomplish is the loss of millions more sorely needed jobs and transformation of what has been a terrible, but temporary recession, into the Great Obama Depression.
This catastrophe, coming strait at the nation like an out of control freight train, can be traced to a fundamental but important character flaw present in most Democrats and their communist loving overlords. Apparently none of them ever learned one of the most basic lessons in life: There’s no such thing as a free lunch.
ObamaCare may sing the siren song of healthcare equality for all (communism), but it sure as heck doesn’t come up with a way to pay for it. Obama and Democrats point to CBO scores that say ObamaCare will reduce the federal deficit by $138 billion over the first 10 years, but this is of course nonsense. It doesn’t include the $208 billion “doc fix” we all know is coming, it presumes Medicare will save $500 billion over the next decade by rooting out fraud (good luck with that), and it includes revenues from existing healthcare programs already being used to pay for services (double counting), in addition to other accounting shenanigans.
Closer to reality former CBO Director Douglas Holtz-Eakin estimated the bill will add $538 billion to the deficit over the first 10 years alone and cost $2.3 trillion. And the first decade includes only 6 years of healthcare benefits!
Few people understand what will happen next now that this perverse bill is law, which is probably the whole idea behind the 2,000+ pages of indecipherable government babble. In reality, there are only a handful of provisions that really matter. The creation of an all powerful government board that will determine who gets what coverage, massive tax hikes on the American people, and the ability for feds to set health insurance rates essentially turning them into government utilities, along with a few other communist like ideas designed to destroy the free market aspects of our world leading healthcare system.
The rest of the bill is just fluff designed to convince people who don’t pay attention that the government actually cares about them. It also provides Obama and Democrats with talking points (30 million more Americans will now be covered!) so they don’t have to explain to the nation what the bill is really designed to do.
Boiled down to brass tacks, the Democrat healthcare bill accomplishes 2 really big things:
1. The healthcare bill is one of the largest tax increases in United States history smack dab in middle of the worst recession in decades. Talk about a double whammy, and it’s not just the rich who will be forced to pay for it. Each and every man, woman and child, and future generations to come, will pay trillions of dollars in unnecessary taxes so Obama can have the privilege to refer to himself as an “historic” president. Many of the hidden tax increases will go into effect almost immediately.
Young, healthy people will be given the choice of purchasing health insurance they can’t afford or paying a fine to the federal government for not having coverage, a far more likely scenario especially given the abolition of preexisting conditions which means young people can sign up for health insurance whenever they happen to need it.
Large corporations will pay 20% or higher healthcare premiums in the first year alone. Caterpillar already announced last week that the bill will cost them at least $100 million a year in additional taxes. Add the rest of the Fortune 400 to the mix and the total business tax bill is HUGE.
Medical device companies, the ones that make things like artificial hips and pacemakers, will be slapped with a 10% surtax (what kind of jerk targets artificial hips for tax hikes???).
And the most sinister, dirtiest trick of them all…forcing state run Medicaid programs, already suicidally underfunded, to admit millions of new beneficiaries with absolutely, positively no way to pay for them – unless of course they stick it to the public with gigantic, economy killing tax increases at both the state and local levels.
The nation is already swimming in debt due to the trillions of dollars in underfunded Medicare and Social Security programs…add to that trillions of more dollars in additional taxes on working Americans during a time of 10% unemployment (more like 17% if you add those who have given up looking for work) and you have recipe for economic disaster and guaranteed job losses for years to come.
5% unemployment is a distant memory and 15% is just around the corner. At the worst of the Great Depression unemployment was 22%, and we’re almost already halfway there!
Newt Gingrich said it best: “Here’s the real cost of this bill…Your children will pay more in taxes to pay interest on the debt than they’ll pay for national security. We used to have a tradition that when you paid off the mortgage, you gave your children the farm. We’re now selling the farm and leaving our kids with the mortgage.”
A couple days ago Obama justified his healthcare bill by stating “it’s about every American who knows the shock of opening an envelope to see their premiums just shot up again when times are already tough enough.”
Well Mr. President, how about those millions of Americans who already know, and will know soon the shock of opening an envelope to see a pink slip? What do you think most Americans would prefer…free lousy healthcare for all or a good job that comes with affordable, quality health insurance?
2. This is a power grab by government bureaucrats. The bill doesn’t have anything to do with building more hospitals, or training more doctors, or educating more nurses, which is exactly what Democrats would be doing if they were sincere about improving healthcare in America. It is about one thing: CONTROL of the healthcare system by Washington bureaucrats…and that’s it.
For one thing, government workers are all union shills. I have never been able to understand why 50% of U.S. government employees are members of a union in the first place. I thought unions were formed to protect “workers” from the greedy corporate “fat cats”. Exactly what corporate “fat cats” do government workers need to be protected from? Themselves? The public? Who?
I see absolutely no justification for federal unions…unless of course their purpose is to extort higher salaries and benefits from the taxpayers and protect incompetents from losing their jobs (public schools). Already government salaries are 20-25% higher than the private sector and they are increasing over time. Apparently all it takes to get a pay raise in the public sector is to form a compensation committee that says you deserve it.
The rest of America does just fine without unions, only around 11% of the private workforce is unionized, so why can’t they do the same? It would seem government unions have nothing to do with protecting the public, but everything to do with stealing from them.
And these are the clowns we’re going to trust running our world leading healthcare system?
159 new bureaucracies will be created over the next few years to administer the plan - all staffed with government lackeys you will never know and will never meet. Their decisions, made outside the prying eyes of the public, will touch all of our lives. Basically some intern in a dusty office who knows where is going to decide whether or not you get that heart valve replacement surgery.
The Greatest Generation
Obama said this past weekend the “100 year-old American dream” is finally coming true with Democrat healthcare reform. You’re telling me that the brave American men and women who fought 2 world wars, a great depression, Korea, Vietnam, the communist peril and every single despot around the world for the past 100 years did so that Obama could socialize 1/6th of the American economy?
Because of the sacrifices of The Greatest Generation, those who lived through the Great Depression and defeated the Nazis and Imperial Japanese in World War II, freedom and democracy has spread throughout the world. There are few people left on Earth who know what it is like to charge a machine gun nest, or advance under heavy artillery fire, or fall on a grenade to save your brothers in arms.
And what repayment do Democrats offer these true American heroes responsible for establishing this great nation? $500 billion in Medicare cuts and free end of life counseling sessions (death panels) complements of Obama.
If that isn’t shameful treatment of our elders, I don’t know what is.
Obama’s depraved thinking towards our grandparent’s generation is reflected in the criticism he had for his grandmother, Madelyn Durham, who elected to undergo hip replacement surgery despite being terminally ill. He had this to say: “I don’t know how much that hip replacement cost… (I don’t feel) society making those decisions to give my grandmother, or everybody else’s aging grandparents or parents, a hip replacement when they’re terminally ill is a sustainable model.
“I mean, the chronically ill and those toward the end of their lives are accounting for potentially 80 percent of the total health care bill.”
For Obama his own grandmother is the perfect example of how the no good elderly are wasting the nation’s collective healthcare resources for their own selfish purposes, like wanting to walk.
The Audacity of Food Stamps
During the Great Depression of the 1930s the country faced the sight of their fellow Americans waiting in lines for soup and bread. The soup lines became ingrained in the country’s consciousness as a failure on the part of the nation to provide jobs for an out of work populace, images that are still recognizable today. We now have a record 40 million Americans on food stamps, an amazing 25% more than the year before.
However, in the modern era we no longer see images of Americans unable to feed themselves. Thanks to technology food stamp cards are reloaded automatically and accepted at most grocery stores. The liberal elite are spared the horrifying sight of millions upon millions of people…in every neighborhood, in every community…waiting in line for food.
And yet watching Obama speak you’d never suspect he cared. When choosing a metric to measure the success of a President, I suggest food stamps. If a President can’t provide an economic environment in which people can feed themselves, then what good is he? By this account, Obama is the biggest presidential failure in the history of the United States.
As Far as I am Concerned, Democrat is just another Name for Communist
The healthcare legislative process exposed liberals for being the corrupt, easily bought crooks we conservatives knew them to be. Democrats in both houses of Congress, from the most progressive to the supposedly conservative, sold their votes for trinkets like cushy government jobs, brand new terminals at their favorite local airport, and free trips on Air Force One.
Even Bart Stupak, the “principled” Democrat who supposedly swore an oath that he would not, under any circumstances, put his signature on a bill that wasn’t didn’t protect human life. In the end he caved and signed the most pro-abortion spending bill in 30 years in return for an empty promise from Obama that isn’t even worth the paper it’s printed on. So much for principled Democrats.
When you add Cap and Trade and the other economy killing Democrat legislative priorities to the mix, it is clear that whatever their priorities are, they have nothing to do with making life better for you or I.
We must vote every single one of those lying, cheating liberals out of office. And I do mean them all. At every level of government, in every community, in every state. No exceptions, no excuses. We need to send a message to the world that we will not allow the usurpers take over and destroy our great nation. ALL DEMOCRATS MUST GO!!!

Drawing a Line in the Sand: The Healthcare Bill

That the House of Representatives passed the healthcare bill yesterday--on the Lord’s day (Sunday) no less-- is no shock. That the House of Representatives have placed their stamp of approval on socialism’s philosophical principles in the United States is no surprise. That the growth of the federal government and its agencies and bureaucracies will be multiplied exponentially by the passage of this bill is to be expected from the federal government.
Naturally, many people in America are very angry at yet another act of egregious usurpation by the federal government. But what else were these people thinking would happen? The federal government has already proven what it is, how it operates and the means it uses to accomplish its goals. The U.S. has walked in steady strides down the road of tyranny and oppression for many, many years, under both Democrat and Republic leadership. Do you think that these traitors have all of a sudden reverted back to the fundamental beliefs of freedom as expressed by our enlightenment forefathers in the 1600 and 1700s? Or are you satisfied with their three-steps-forward, one-step-back approach to politics and “restoring freedom”? The federal government continually upgrades its engine, oils its wheels, and maintains the tracks for its long train of abuses, with no apparent intent to the contrary.
I, along with some other authors, have communicated repeatedly about the States’ responsibility and duty to resist federal encroachments. More and more, this reality of truth is coming to light. More and more, people who have been duped to focus all of their energy, time and mind to “changing Washington D.C.” are waking up to the reality that the only meaningful line of defense against this evil agenda is through those powers that the people of the states possess as a sovereign state (retained in the tenth amendment), in addition to those natural powers of self-defense and self-preservation, which every person and every body-politic has under God.
Do not be totally discouraged: there is always good which arises out of evil. At the least, many people have opened their eyes and minds (1) to the utter and complete disregard that the federal government has for the freedom which God grants and the constitution was to protect; (2) to the worthlessness and fruitlessness of federal politics and voting for “lesser evils;” (3) to the false doctrine of “whatever the federal government passes, executes and upholds through its political branches is the ‘Supreme Law of the Land’;” and (4) to the enslaving presupposition that the states have no power to actively resist the federal government against laws, orders and judgments that are contrary to the intent, meaning and application of the U.S. Constitution as ratified in 1787.
With every suppressive push that the federal government forces down upon the clay of individuals, families, businesses, society and states, there is and will be a remnant and overflow that escapes from the hand of tyranny. Freedom exists in human nature: God has created in mankind (1) the virtually endless ability to recognize and analyze his interests, condition and circumstances and apply principles (derived from human nature) for his survival, sustenance and perfection for the present and the future; (2) the capability and desire to protect himself, his family, his community and the body-politic to which he belongs against forces that threaten the very essence, purpose and meaning of his joining together into families, societies and governments; and (3) the responsibility and duty to obey and enforce the HIGHER LAWS he owes to God, himself, his family, his neighbors, his fellow-citizens, and his posterity for the perpetuation and exaltation of the freedom.
Many books and articles have been written; many speeches have been made; and many arguments have emanated concerning the nature and character of our federal system of government under the U.S. constitution, as ratified by the then-existing States from 1787-1790. But we have reached a pivotal point in our history where it is obviously time to apply more than academic perspective to the form of government our fore-generation bequeathed to us, their posterity, for the blessings of liberty. It is time to do more than just talk about what the people of the states can, should and must do to resist tyranny and uphold freedom. It is time for leaders to rise up within the state arena and with confidence, knowledge, understanding, conviction, fortitude and courage, lead their state in an active resistance against this never-ending train of abuses perpetuated by the federal government (and those who control its agenda).
We must stop to observe that some states in the union are, to some degree, already doing just this. In fact, some thirty-seven (37) states, following the leadership role of Idaho, are planning to file suit against the United States government should the healthcare bill become law (FN1). I commend those states for their active role in this regard. Citizens of those states should likewise show their commendation to those state officials who are attempting to stand between them and the usurpation of the federal government.
However, with that said, let us use a little conjecture here. What if the FEDERAL courts rule in favor of the FEDERAL government? And what if the federal court does not enter a stay order of the healthcare law, and consequently, the enforcement of it goes forward without a ruling from a federal court in favor of the States? What will the States do?
Are they going to allow the federal courts to draw the lines of state sovereignty which only the sovereigns of the states can do? Are they going to allow the federal government to once again confirm and cement their supposed supreme power over the states? Are three-fourths of the states going to miss their prime opportunity to seriously and meaningfully limit this monstrosity of central government by amending the constitution to more effectively place the chains of the constitution around the federal government’s neck and ankles? Additional, would three-fourths of the states do what the States did in 1795 by confirming the TRUE construction of the constitution, mandating that the constitution not be CONSTRUED to deny the states their powers to resist the federal government’s unconstitutional actions? Are the county sheriffs and state governors going to arrest those federal agents for attempting to enforce those unconstitutional laws, which are void and null in that state? Are those state governments going to withhold tax dollars coming out of their state from being used by the federal government in what they deem to be unconstitutional? In essence, are these states going to resist or submit?
If a vast majority of the states do not draw a line in the sand now and enforce its rights when that line is crossed, then this leaves little option for those remaining states, who in truth and liberty, stand upon those sacred fundamental maxims and principles of individual, familial, societal and political freedom, as expressed by those noble and sacrificing generations before us. Serious decisions will have to be made for the body, soul and spirit of freedom not only to thrive, but to merely survive, within any of the states in the union.
There is little room left for mere academic debate any more. The federal government, along with those who control them, laughs at us as we try to figure out what to do and how to do it.
Meanwhile, they openly make haste with our freedom, property, rights, future and prosperity in their thieving hands, making it that much harder to accomplish anything meaningful through a peaceful political method.
The matter is really not that complicated: the states, as individual, sovereign bodies-politic, either invoke their rights and powers under the Supreme Judge of the Universe who ordained their rights and powers through those people comprising its borders and actively resist through its individual political process; or the states drudge along in this corrupted federal system, hoping, praying and begging some federal official to restore freedom to the states, and then upon being denied yet again, those states submit to the continual egregious assaults upon our freedom.
#The solution at hand is not a national issue to be debated on a national level. That is just what the federal government wants us to do: keep freedom’s debate in Washington D.C.! (How clever and conniving are tyrants who love centralized power!) The solution is a state issue to be decided on a state level: bring freedom back home, where it belongs! Until those states draw a line in the sand, you can expect that the ocean of the federal government will continue to encroach upon and beyond the sands of the States’ shoreline, destroying everything in its path. The States cannot be mere pebbles and weeds of resistance on the seashore separating the land of the States and the ocean of the federal government. They must be a strong wall made of the most durable, powerful and lasting material to resist the tides of tyranny.

Many believe the Democrat victory celebration over passing Obamacare will be short-lived. Within hours of passing a historic health care bill, Democrats may face legal action by attorneys general in a number of U.S. states.
Several top law enforcement officials have indicated they plan to file lawsuits that will challenge the health care system overhaul. Of particular interest is the provision that forces American citizens to purchase health care insurance under penalty of fines or imprisonment.
On Tuesday, President Barack Obama will sign landmark health-care legislation into law amid the celebratory tone of Democrats and their many news media cheerleaders. This will occur despite the fact that poll after poll shows a majority of Americans want no part of Obamacare and officials from many states frown on the plan to saddle their governments with more federal mandates,
For example, Florida’s Attorney General Bill McCollum states that he is joining several state attorneys general to legally challenge the constitutionality of the Obamacare bill, which passed Sunday evening along party lines 219 to 212. Not one Republican voted for the bill.
McCollum, who is planning a run for governor of Florida, is expected to hold a press conference on Monday to discuss his lawsuit and the provisions he believes are unconstitutional.
McCollum claims the bill is unconstitutional because it forces people to have health insurance. He said the bill also violates states’ sovereignty.
In addition to Florida, South Carolina, Nebraska, Texas, Utah, Pennsylvania, Washington, North Dakota and South Dakota are expected to join Florida or sue independently to repeal the health care law.
Some of the officials from various states who oppose the Obamacare law are Democrats who believe the new law is full of unfunded mandates that will hurt state governments and residents.
“It’s ridiculous to think that the answer to having people who cannot afford health insurance is to pass a law ordering them to purchase policies they can’t afford under penalty of $750 fines,” said attorney and political strategist Mike Baker.
“I don’t believe U.S. Supreme Court judges will allow citizens to be punished because they are poor and can’t afford health insurance,” he said.
While the Democrats and their media echo chamber characterize Sunday’s vote as a historic victory in a long-running battle to reform the nation’s $2.5 trillion health-care system, conservatives and some liberals view the passage of Obamacare as another government intrusion into the lives of Americans and the private sector.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will see its largest expansion since withholding taxes were first enacted during WWII to enforce the glut of new tax mandates and penalties included in the Democrats’ latest health care plan, according to Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX).
A new analysis by the Joint Economic Committee and the House Ways & Means Committee minority staff estimates up to 16,500 new IRS personnel will be needed to collect, examine and audit new tax information mandated on families and small businesses in the ‘reconciliation’ bill being taken up by the U.S. House of Representatives this weekend, according to Brady.
“When most people think of health care reform they think of more doctors exams, not more IRS exams,” says U.S. Congressman Kevin Brady, the top House Republican on the Joint Economic Committee. “Isn’t the federal government already intruding enough into our lives? We need thousands of new doctors and nurses in America, not thousands more IRS agents.”

In addition to more complicated tax returns, families and small businesses will be forced to reveal further tax information to the IRS, provide proof of ‘government approved’ health care and submit detailed sales information to comply with new excise taxes.

Unfortunately, according to the Center for American Progress, the structure of the IRS’ use of private agencies to collect “debts” encourages abuse. Under the current program, collectors are awarded as much as 25 cents of every dollar they collect, in addition to a $100 bonus for every account they close.
The Internal Revenue Service strategy of paying private debt collectors a 25 percent commission to collect unpaid tax debt originally met with bipartisan resistance from Congress. They claimed that the proposal jeopardized the rights and privacy of American taxpayers. Several organizations voiced their objections to the IRS proposal and have expressed their strong support for the consumer protection legislation Rep. Chris Van Hollen introduced: Citizens for Tax Justice, Consumer Federation of America, Consumers Union, National Consumer Law Center, National Consumers League.
The very nature of the program provides incentives for collectors to push the limits of legality to extract a little more revenue from their targets. As part of the IRS Restructuring and Reform Act of 1998, Congress, fearing overly aggressive collection practices, explicitly prohibited the IRS from compensating its own collectors based on the amount of money they collect. If Congress believes that incentive-based pay will cause official IRS collectors to cross the line, why would they think private collectors would behave any differently?
Although IRS officials indicated that the purpose of the limited implementation phase was to assure readiness for full implementation using up to 12 private collection agencies, the IRS has not documented how it will identify and use the lessons learned to ensure that each critical success factor is addressed before expanding the program even further during the current atmosphere of extraordinary government spending.
Because program’s success will be affected by how well IRS makes adjustments, assessing the lessons learned in limited implementation is critical. Also, IRS has not documented criteria that it will use to determine whether the limited implementation performance warrants program expansion.
IRS officials indicated that they are considering criteria that could trigger a go/no go decision, such as the amount of penalties collected from Americans unwilling or unable to purchase health care insurance and there are some indications of PCAs abusing taxpayers or misusing taxpayer data.
Paying private debt collectors on a commission basis is costly and threatens the rights and privacy of the American taxpayers. Congress must ensure, as this resolution seeks to do, that federal tax collection functions will not be handed over to private sector bounty hunters.
Critics of the private collection agency program say that, compared with private debt collectors, whose bad apples star in countless horror stories of debtor abuse and intimidation, the IRS’s customer-service-based approach may start looking pretty good to taxpayers.
A recent Center for American Progress report noted that “19% of all complaints received by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in 2005 were related to debt collectors, up from 10.5% in 1999. The FTC received more complaints about debt collection in 2005 than about any other industry—66,627, a 560% increase over the last six years.” The report’s writers claim this will likely occur with private agencies working on behalf of the IRS.
IRS officials say they will have a little more than a half year to identify the lessons learned before incorporating them into the next contract solicitation, which IRS intends to release in March 2007.

Four Michigan residents who object to the government forcing them to purchase health-care insurance and pay for abortions have joined in a federal lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the health-care reform bill President Obama signed into law yesterday.
The Michigan-based non-profit Thomas More Law Center and attorney David Yerushalmi filed the suit in the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, seeking to permanently stop enforcement of the new legislation.
"This act is a product of political corruption and the exercise of unconstitutional power. Our Founding Fathers envisioned a limited form of government," said Richard Thompson, Thomas More's president and chief counsel. "The purpose of our Constitution and this lawsuit is to insure it stays that way."
None of the four Michigan plaintiffs have private health care insurance, and they assert supporting abortion is contrary to their religious beliefs.
Named as defendants in the lawsuit are President Obama, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner.
Thompson argued that if Congress has the power to "force individuals to purchase health insurance coverage or pay a federal penalty merely because they live in America, then it has the unconstrained power to mandate that every American family buy a General Motors vehicle to help the economy or pay a federal penalty."
Robert Muise, Thomas More's senior trial counsel, and Yerushalmi prepared the lawsuit.
The complaint asserts the health-care reform law imposes unprecedented governmental mandates that trample on the personal and economic freedoms of Americans in violation of their constitutional rights.
It also alleges Congress had no authority under the Commerce Clause to pass the law and that by usurping the power reserved for the states and the people, Congress violated the Tenth Amendment.
The lawsuit also contends that by forcing private citizens to fund abortion, contrary to their rights of conscience and the free exercise of religion, Congress violated the First Amendment.
Thompson acknowledged Americans agree the health care system needs reform, but "they don't want a federal takeover of the system in the process. And they don't want reform by trampling on our Constitution."

On Monday morning, March 22, 2010, I had a hangover. I did; a hangover of major proportions as a result of watching the most embarrassing display of anti-Americanism to soil our TV screens in the history of that medium.
I watched as 219 anti-Americans, savoring only their own greed and false joy at passing a bloated, mistake-filled, freedom robbing, elderly-abusing, unconscionably expensive, ultra-high tax resulting piece of absolute trash that does NOTHING to remedy the perceived shortcomings of the most efficient medical system in the entire world.
When you consider that one of the most often quoted reasons claimed as needed was reform of the insurance companies’ practices and policies, then as the old 1960s Broadway musical said, “A funny thing happened on the way to the Forum.” And most likely a very embarrassing moment for the sponsors of this legislative travesty, the insurance companies suddenly were big supporters of its contents.
It doesn’t take much gray matter to recognize when the fix is in; and with all the back room, dark of night wheeling and dealing with little to no opposition party members present at the direction of the major players: Obama, Pelosi and Reid, voila’ a new kind of “reform” was created. Not only that, but speed was of the essence for fear that too many people other than the small, elite, “need-to-know” group might learn of the many warts and pimples this vain-glorious piece of trash had nestled under the wrinkles of deceit.
Payola, Illegal bribes
So the money-maker wheels began rolling to smooth the road to approval after all the discordant voices were hushed with payolas and outright, indecent and in all probability, illegal, bribes from the highest levels of the party.
When the last of these hurdles was surmounted, the silencing of Mr. Bart Stupak, the holy champion of Catholic ideals who could not be associated with such a scurrilous thing that not only allowed, but encouraged and paid for abortions on demand, the purge was completed. Victory was assured.
To put a little icing on the cake, our usurper president made the bribe look at least a tiny bit more respectable by claiming to issue a Presidential Directive diffusing any look of impropriety. HAH! I think it is common knowledge that an Executive Directive can not supersede a written law; so how was that action going to work on this mess? I suppose we shouldn’t have to worry as the usurper dictator will just declare it does. In any case, it got the job done: 219 to 212; just enough to eke out a victory for the bad guys.
Today, on this hung-over, inglorious day, I have been hearing ever growing louder chants of “Repeal”; “Impeach”; “Remove” and so on. It will take a while for the initial shock to wear off and people to get down to business to get moving on some, if not all, of these proposed remedies to right our ship of state once more and restore order.
Term Limits
The amusing part of all this chicanery, and theft of rights and freedoms is that they could all have been prevented several years ago had the momentum been directed in a proper course of administrative correctness. I am, of course, referring to the attempts made to install term limits into the federal government without amending legislation to our Constitution.
Term limits would never have allowed any of our Congressmen (and women) to gather that much power and corruptness. And term limits would obviate the necessity to cheat to gain votes. It’s too late to do anything about it now; but ho, ho, ho, wait until November of 2010.
Santa Claus just might arrive a bit early this year to begin our celebration of freedom from tyranny.
Obama, Reid, Pelosi and Healthcare

Despite an abundance of evidence to contradict their preconceived opinion, the Obama administration and the Democrat Party leadership have coerced themselves into a false sense of entitlement and competence.
Once upon a time, our founding fathers were reluctantly dragged to the epiphany that in the wake of “a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them [the people] under absolute despotism.” Unenthusiastically at first, they acknowledged “it is their right; it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.”
One would hope and pray we have not yet reached that frosty Rubicon’s bank. However, the unbridled arrogance of the boy king and his minions in the Democrat majority is setting new unfortunate standards. Before we immerse in the dots and tittles, the he said/she saids and the pontificating neener-neener-neeners, let’s remember some basics about this separation of powers thing…
The framers in their wisdom crafted a republic that consists of three branches of government. Not just three separate and distinct branches of government but three CO-equal branches of government: Executive, Judicial and Legislative.
Each branch has specific duties and responsibilities. Sure various presidents have grabbed for more power than authorized and congress has flat out hidden from their responsibility to declare war. Modern judiciaries have attempted to legislate from the bench (and at times have succeeded). However, the key point that needs underscoring is there ARE three co-equal branches of government and none is greater than the sum of its parts.
After a year of the Obama administration it has become increasingly evident that this administration must have missed a few civics classes along the way. This administration continues to maintain an imperial pretension that isn’t even playing well with the disillusioned base.
ObamaReidPelosi seem intent on ignoring the screams of both friends and foes and every polling outfit with a computer. The troika is Jonesing to push health-care reform despite overwhelming opposition because…because they can.
Forget all that hyperbolic fiction about bipartisanship…this is Chicago rules as outlined by Sean Connery to Kevin Cosner in ‘The Untouchables’.
Even one of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s floor whips, U.S. Rep. Stephen Lynch, cautions against parliamentary gamesmanship. He says the proposed Pelosi finesse (that ‘deemed’ passed without a vote charade) would be “disingenuous” and harm the credibility of Congress.
Beyond the daunting battle in Congress the tone deaf administration is even picking fights with the Supreme Court? Jan Crawford writing for CBS News likewise is confused as to why the Obama gang maintains such a counter intuitive aggression for picking a fight with the Supremes.
The eclectic mythology of Barack Obama is frankly suffering from the harshness of reality as legions of sycophants and defenders of the indefensible are now seeking plausible deniability safe havens. Good luck!
“Governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it.” No, that is not a Tea Party gauntlet hitting the ground…that quote is from the Declaration of Independence.
Most reasonable people in both main political parties don’t want to really cause another revolution. Indeed in the words of the Declaration, “experience hath shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.”
However, there IS a point of diminishing return and the egregious conduct of both the executive and legislative branches is fueling a domestic and foreign angst that potentially could destroy the republic.
The deem and pass maneuver is fraud. It “says we can vote for healthcare but you can go home and say you didn’t vote for it. It is a trick. I don’t think the American people are going to be fooled by it at all,” Hoekstra says.
Pelosi’s tactics are bad leadership, bad policy, and bad politics guaranteed to return like acid reflux.
#There are consequences to the things we do in life…good things and bad things. Consequences are inevitable, not just for misbehaving children or stubborn hunting dogs. Americans voted for ‘change’ because they were annoyed at the Bush White House. The president promised he would make this bill process transparent, so the American people can see how good of a bill and how good of a policy this is. Instead, unable to dazzle us with brilliance he persists in baffling us with B.S. garnished with a smarmy “Trust me!”

Before you ask what kind of self-medication I’ve discovered, let me preface this by reminding people I, among other things, am a political tactician. I lived in dark blue Massachusetts where Democrats not only made sport of standing on the necks of the super-minority Republicans, but attempting to squeeze the remaining life out of them. I know how they think and I know what will happen if health care reform is defeated.
The GOP has the cover of being 100% against this bill, so they are relatively safe come November.
Should health care reform be defeated, Democrats will first blame an out-of-power Republican minority, attempt a few faux mea culpas, tell the American people they “get it” and will hope the majority of Americans forgive-and-forget come November. The primary energy of Democrats will go towards keeping control of the House and Senate.
Let’s be real; if they maintain control, do you really think they won’t have learned the errors of their ways and attempt health care again (with a new “mandate”), this time quicker and more forceful with a fresh two years of pad?
I say let the Democrats have this victory.
Democrats will subsequently incur the wrath of the American people. Town meetings this summer will require Dems to arrive with armed escort, if they’re brave enough to hold them at all. Knowing incrementalist Democrats as we do, they’ll keep ramming unpopular legislation through after passage of health care, infuriating the public beyond the point of redemption.
On the other side, every Republican running this fall will do so on a “Repeal the Bill” platform. Should the GOP retake the House and Senate, that should happen.
November will give new meaning to the political term “bloodbath”. Democrats could be out of power for the foreseeable future, and in 2012, we will see Obama leave in disgrace.
While we all know how disastrous this health care reform will be, I’ve also learned a few things from sadistic Massachusetts Democrats: once you have your foot on the neck of the opposition, press down until they stop breathing. Because of their arrogance, we have golden opportunity to let the Democrats destroy themselves.
I think we should let them do it.

It would never be gratifying enough for him to push America over the cliff on March 21, 2010, just one week before Palm Sunday. In unloading his HealthCare on the American population just before Palm Sunday, President Barack Obama is trying to write himself into real time as The Messiah.
A no-vote, deemed-into-reality Health Bill was bad enough before Obama “borrowed” the most meaningful symbolism of the Judeo Christian world.
The arrogance of using the symbolism of Palm Sunday as his HealthCare showcase speaks volumes about Barry Soetero’s massive insecurity, an insecurity his just-as-insecure wife and self-centered boss woman Valerie Jarrett can’t keep propped up to healthier levels.
On `Obama Has An Ego Day’, other than the courage and the decency to do the right thing, all he’s missing is the donkey, though at least figuratively speaking, either Pelosi or Reid could easily fill in as the #####.
Supplanting himself as The Messiah and making his Triumphant Entry into Jerusalem is more than 2,000 years too late.
In Christianity, Palm Sunday is the first day of Holy Week and the Sunday before Easter, commemorating Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
No one, not even Vice President Joe Biden can possibly miss the symbolism of the debut of ObamaCare one week before Palm Sunday.

For all of those who feel the pain of the Traveling Obama Show, it is not the end but only the beginning.

In a world where truth is getting to be as rare as political altruism, the change of We the People will follow ObamaCare.
After Healthcare passage, Obama will awaken in time for Holy Week as the same old Barry-cum Barack.
And on the Easter Sunday, millions of people will be saying, from the sincerity of their very souls: “Christ is risen” and hearing back “He has risen indeed.”
After Easter, those same millions will be finding the ways to repeal ObamaCare. For the real battle will have just begun.

I have written this post to explain why President Obama is so desperate to pass health care legislation, seemingly regardless of the cost to the Democratic Party.
The reality is that President Obama owes his success and his hold on power more to three Marxist groups than he does to the Democrats.
The three organizations, Communist Party USA, Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism and Democratic Socialists of America, all worked with Barack Obama for years and helped get him elected.
Now they want payback.
All three organizations have campaigned hard for “socialized” or “Single Payer” health care.
They want Obama to pass a bill, any bill, so that they can then ratchet up the pressure until the government has complete control of the health sector.
Why? Because these people figure that if government controls health care, it will lock socially conservative American workers into supporting their Democratic Party allies indefinitely.
Britain after World War II is their model. While Winston Churchill was the hero of the hour, in 1946 he was dumped in a landslide in favor of Labour Party leader Clement Attlee, on the promise of a massively increased welfare state and a socialized National Health Service.
Leading Communist Party USA theoretician Norman Markowitz put it this way in a November 2008 article in Political Affairs, entitled Obama’s Mandate for Change:
A “single payer” national health system—known as “socialized medicine” in the rest of the developed world—should be an essential part of the change that the core constituencies which elected Obama desperately need.
Britain serves as an important political lesson for strategists. After the Labor Party established the National Health Service after World War II, supposedly conservative workers and low-income people under religious and other influences who tended to support the Conservatives were much more likely to vote for the Labor Party when health care, social welfare, education and pro-working class policies were enacted by labor-supported governments.

Congratulations are in order for Delegate Bob Marshall (R–Prince William) who single–handedly led the fight to exempt Virginians from the baleful effects of Obamacare.
Virginia became the first state in the nation to pass legislation that prohibits the federal government from forcing residents to buy bureaucrat–approved health insurance.
In stark contrast to the party line, take–your–castor–oil–and–like–it strategy Obama, Pelosi and Reid are employing to pass Obamacare; 21 of 39 House Democrats in Virginia voted for Marshall’s bill and five Democrats in the Senate ensured its passage.
Currently 34 other states are considering similar bills, while the remaining 15 holdouts are petitioning the European Union for annexation.
Democrat defenders of Obamacare’s massive encroachment on personal freedom claim forcing the living to buy health insurance as a requirement for existing is just like forcing drivers to buy car insurance.
Proving when you’re a politician, any analogy, no matter how leaky, will do in a storm.
Except that driving is a privilege, while living is a right. A citizen who chooses not to drive (or a illegal alien who drives, but is immune to petty legal requirements) can do without car insurance — regardless of how long those creepy GEICO eyes stare at him. A non–driver can still conduct his affairs with a minimum of inconvenience. Drunks, the elderly and Greener–than–thou Democrats do it all the time.
But giving up life to avoid buying Obamacare is not much of a choice.
Coming to the defense of Virginians, Marshall explained, “It gives the state… the right to intervene on behalf of individuals should they decide not to pay for insurance and they refuse to pay the fine or they refuse to pay the fee or the tax or whatever you call it.”
His bill is a grand gesture, but Marshall’s efforts are only a start. For Virginia to be a leader in health care reform and a beacon to market–oriented conservatives nationwide, Marshall must take two more steps.
First allow Virginians to buy health insurance marketed in other states; opening our closed market to competition. And two, stop the Commonwealth’s meddling in health insurance.
State government has mandated over 30 conditions that must be covered by insurance companies that do business in Virginia. What’s more, Marshall himself wants to add another.
This “share the health” interference is essentially what Obamacare wants to do, just on a smaller scale.
Legislators, caving in to pressure groups, have decided single males have to pay for pap smears, postpartum services, childhood immunizations and mammograms. Single women have to pay for PSA tests for prostate cancer. Teetotaling Baptists have to pay for substance abuse treatment. Childless couples have to cover newborn children, early intervention services and obstetrical care. The elderly pony up for contraceptives and infant hearing screening.
Every one of these coverage mandates raise the overall cost of the policy. My wife, Janet, says calculating opaque health care pricing is like taking clothes to the dry cleaners: you never know how much it’s going to cost until you’re in too deep to get out gracefully.
Economic illiterates shrug and say, “I don’t care, because I don’t use that coverage;” thinking no co–pay means no expense. But the point is YOU ARE PAYING FOR THOSE COVERAGES IN THE OVERALL COST OF YOUR POLICY!
Unbundling coverage and transparent pricing will give health care consumers the freedom to choose the coverage they want to pay for and decline the coverage they don’t want or need. This red tape extraction will instantly lower coverage costs for many and make insurance more affordable overall.
Insurance socialism uses money from people who live a healthy lifestyle to subsidize the treatment of people who do not. And everyone gets to pay for others to use chiropractors, counselors, midwifes, acupuncturists, gypsies, magicians and soothsayers regardless of whether or not they believe in the transformative effects of patchouli oil.
Think of buying health insurance this way: remember the last time you had dinner at an expensive restaurant with “friends” from work? To save money, you avoided appetizers, ordered an inexpensive entre and had a pine float to drink.
Unfortunately the office manager, Fancy Pelosi and her posse insisted on ordering two appetizers each, had the most expensive entre, plus dessert. And the boss, Barry Nodrama, had three mixed drinks and ordered cigars!
When the bill came Fancy airily said, “Let’s divide the bill equally and share the cost.”
Well Bunkie, that’s the health insurance market with government interference.
The health insurance market without government interference is competitive, efficient and innovative with lower overall cost.

If anyone has time to go through the more than 2,700 pages in the Senate version of the current health care reform bill, there are some aspects of this legislation that should send a chill down the spine of any American. But, for a moment, let’s take time to review how medical records have been shared in the past.
Whenever you saw a new physician, one of the first things they needed was your past medical history, specifically related to what a doctor might need to know about your treatment. This new doctor would ask you to sign a release form to be sent to a physician who treated you previously to share specific information. These forms were only good for a prescribed period of time and detailed exactly what information you did and did not want shared with the new doctor. For example, a specialist might need to know about any pre-existing conditions which might have an impact on a medical procedure he or she might perform.
Also, you simply might be seeing a new general physician who would need access to your past medical history. The bottom line is medical information was always kept in-house, unless the patient requested their medical records be sent to a new health care provider.
As a journalist, I have found that relating information from an anecdotal perspective is the best way to get a point across. Therefore, let me share a recent experience I had during a visit to my family doctor, who I have been seeing for over five years, who works at a medical center which serves a small town in central Illinois. I struck up a conversation with one of the nurses who collected data, including my weight, blood pressure, what medications I was currently taking, etc. “We are putting all of our medical records into a database,” the nurse told me. Immediately a red flag went up, so I asked her who will have access to this information? “Oh, all your medical records will be on a computer, but no one outside this facility will have access to your private records.”
Now anyone who knows the least bit about computers understands full well once information is downloaded into such a system, it can be readily shared with others, accessed by hackers or find its way into the hands of those who should not be privy to such information.
But let’s get back to Obama’s health care reform plan. One of the provisions within the bill is that all Americans medical information should be compiled and stored electronically. Supposedly, this data will strictly be meant to stay in-house, as my nurse ensured me it would be. However, if health care reform becomes law, if it desires, the government will have access to the medical records of every American citizen. Of course, those who support health care reform will say nothing will change regarding privacy laws. But the simple fact medical providers will have this data on their systems will make it that much easier for the government to further intrude in our private lives.
For example, the government could compile data on what ethnic groups experience the most heart attacks. Or, even more intrusive, health care reform could open up records regarding an individual’s psychiatric history or whether a patient went through an alcohol or drug rehabilitation program. Our medical lives could become an open book. And, most assuredly, the government would find reasons why such data would serve the greater public good.
The information obtained by the government could and probably would be used to determine whether a patient “deserved” care in their later years, i.e., was an individual a smoker? If so, should they be entitled to extensive care concerning conditions related to the fact they smoked? This analogy could be drawn out to include any and every possibility, in order to eventually ration health care to those who deserve it because they led healthy lives and those who did not.
It has already been demonstrated health commissions will be created under Obamacare which will determine who will be entitled to medical services. Last year, a federal panel came out with a finding which said women ages 40 - 49 did not need yearly mammograms. This contradicted past medical findings which clearly indicated women in this age group should have mammograms annually in order to detect breast cancer in its early stages. Unbelievably, one of the panel’s rationale regarding their decision suggested annual mammograms for women 40 - 49 subjected them to greater stress and anxiety. Of course, the federal panel’s decision was met by a firestorm of criticism from experts in the field of breast cancer and psychologists who pointed out the obvious regarding the fact women not having mammograms in this very important period of their lives would indeed suffer through more anxiety and trepidation concerning their health.
Under Obamacare, there would be similar panels, staffed by government bureaucrats and statisticians who would hand down decisions based on information other than data provided by medical experts, as was the case with the decision made by the federal panel regarding mammograms. The bottom line here would be the rationing of health care services to save money, ultimately excluding groups which did not fall within a statistical matrix.
Without a national database which included detailed information about the medical status of all Americans, these panels would not be able to function. Therefore, ultimately, information—compiled in good faith by doctors who have private practices or physicians who work for larger medical centers—will be made available to the government whose intentions may not be in the best interest of a patient.
The passing of comprehensive health care reform may be decided within days. There is much more at stake here than meets the eye of the casual observer. A database containing the medical records of every individual in the United States will be a treasure trove for those who believe government has all the answers.
