Who is Maurice Strong?

Glenn Beck: Meet Maurice Strong
All that President Barack Obama is doing to transform America, Free World over to One World Government begins and ends with one Maurice Strong. Soros is merely the financier

Great job on shining the FOX flashlight on man-behind-the-curtain Maurice Strong last night.
You asked for people to send you information on Strong.
While the entire cable network world, thanks largely to The One Thing, now knows that Strong is on the Chicago Carbon Credit Exchange board of directors, it gets worse, much worse.
It’s true that Strong explained that he had only fantasized the end of the world in his now famous interview with a Canadian reporter. Unfortunately for the free world, the fantasy is Strong’s philosophy.
As recently as 2006, speaking from an air conditioned boardroom somewhere in Communist China, Maurice Strong—the same man who would deny air conditioning for you to save the environment—was hatching his latest anti-American initiative.
“Having cashed in his Kyoto credits and having launched his ManyOne Internet project from afar, Strong is back on the international scene, ready or not. With his latest comeback, the elusive Strong is stepping back into the limelight after his alleged links to the UN Oil-forFood scandal took him off the radar screen for more than a year. This comeback sees Strong teaming up in the biz world with George Soros. The deadly duo aims to flood the American market with cheap Chinese-made cars. (Strong & Soros in Business: A Partnership from Hell, CFP, June 15, 2006).
“Strong’s public predictions that China would replace the United States, as world superpower is not happening fast enough. So Strong and President George W. Bush malcontent George Soros are contemplating pouring hundreds of millions into a Communist China automaker that manufactures the “Chery”.”
So Strong and Soros were working on anti-American schemes as far back as 2006.
They had hoped to decimate Ford, Chrysler and GM by flooding the U.S. market with cheapo Cherys on a 2007 deadline.
Well, we now know what happened to the American auto industry in 2009.
But it doesn’t even begin or stop there.
Maurice Strong has almost as much impact on average Americans as the air that they breathe.
All that President Barack Obama is doing to transform America and the Free World over to One World Government begins and ends with one Maurice Strong. Soros is merely the financier.
Here, in his own words, is what Strong wants for the middle class: “It is clear that current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class—involving high meat intake, consumption of large amounts of frozen and convenience foods, use of fossil fuels, appliances, home and work-place air-conditioning, and suburban housing—are not sustainable. A shift is necessary towards lifestyles less geared to environmentally damaging consumption patterns.” (1992 Rio Earth Summit 11).
Strong’s portrayal as a Wizard Oz in a fog of ether was helped along by Canada’s state-owned, liberal and largest television network, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC)l
The CBC 2004 special, The Life and Times of Maurice Strong, features a visit by Strong to former Soviet leader, Mikhail Gorbachev who gives Strong a CBC-described “glass saber full of the same brandy Stalin used to send Winston Churchill every week.”
It was in an admiring way that CBC reporter Ann-Marie MacDonald described Strong as a sort of “cross between Rasputin and Machiavelli.”
You could say that it’s downright Machiavellian how Strong and Gorbachev consorted back in 1997 to replace the Ten Commandments with the UN Earth Charter.
Although it defies belief, their jointly authored Earth Charter is carried around in a wooden chest called the Ark of Hope.
The Ark of Hope is described as a “magnificent large sycamore chest, which was conceived as a visual message of peace, sustainability and concern for the Earth.”
Gilt-covered and lavish in the looks department, the chest carries Temenos Earth masks. The 96” poles of the 200-lb. chest are “unicorn horns which render evil ineffective”.
The Ark carries Gorby’s and Strong’s Earth Charter, an international peoples‘ treaty, need of which was foreseen and initiated at the Strong-led Rio Earth Summit in 1992. At last count, the Ark was being carried into New York classrooms.
Now you know, Glenn why Strong is too busy to write novels. Besides, it must be so much more fun rewriting history.
Lest you think CFP is pulling your leg, this is what Gorbachev has to say about the Earth Charter: “The Ten Commandments are out of date. They will be replaced by the 18 principles of the Earth Charter.”
It is CFP’s belief that the way for The Messiah was cleared for Barack Obama by Maurice Strong and that Louis Farrakhan was right on the money when he said “before he was elected, he (Obama) was selected”.
So how does Maurice Strong get away with it?
By relying on the media-hyped conspiracy theory charges. You know, those rednecks still waiting for the black helicopters.
Meanwhile, when Glenn pulled the curtain back on International Man of Mystery Maurice Strong last night, he hit the motherlode.
The new world devised by Maurice Strong and George Soros
United Nations and its carefully managed One World Order
By Judi McLeod
Monday, November 24, 2008
Have you ever wondered how capitalism was pushed over the edge of the cliff just six weeks before the American presidential election?
According to financial experts, the world, as we know it will change dramatically by the year 2012. People, who provided for their families only three years ago, will be desperately searching for food.
The story of the economic meltdown of 2008 begins and ends with the United Nations and its carefully managed One World Order.
Behind the curtain of this dark chapter in human misery are ogres Maurice Strong and George Soros.
It is both power lust and an all-consuming hatred of the United States of America that elevated this deadly duo to ogre status.
Fortunately for all of those searching for answers, much of their plan for the world, post November 4, 2008 is already mapped out in writing.
Leading economic experts and Strong agree that in 2012 people will be going hungry.
“Strong has worked diligently and effectively to bring his ideas to fruition, He is now in a position to implement them.” (Henry Lamb, The Rise of Global Governance, available at “His speeches and writings provide a clear picture of what to expect. In 1991, Strong wrote the introduction to a book published by the Trilateral Commission, called Beyond Interdependence: The Meshing of the World’s Economy and the Earth’s Ecology, by Jim MacNeil. (David Rockefeller wrote the foreword). Strong said this:
“This interlocking…is the new reality of the century, with profound implications for the shape of our institutions of governance, national and international. By the year 2012, these changes must be fully integrated into our economic and political life.”
These chilling words are in line with ones he used for the opening session of the Rio Conference (Earth Summit II) in 1992, that industrialized countries have:
“Developed and benefited from the unsustainable patterns of production and consumption which have produced our present dilemma. It is clear that current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class—involving high meat intake, consumption of large amounts of frozen and convenience foods, use of fossil fuels, appliances, home and work-place air-conditioning, and suburban housing—are not sustainable. A shift is necessary toward lifestyles less geared to environmentally damaging consumption patterns.”
The only change that has happened since 1992 is that Strong and Soros now have their Agent of Change coming to the White House.
In other words, the world according to Maurice Strong, is unfolding as it should.
In an era ridden by bankruptcies and job loss, Zombie-like cultists will swarm Washington, D.C. for the January 20, 2009 inauguration of Barack Obama.
Voluntary acceptance of global governance is the preferred means of achieving a takeover of America without a single shot having been fired.
“Education programs to teach the “global ethic” have been underway by UNESCO and by UNEP for more than twenty years.” (Page 90, The Rise of Global Governance). “That the U.S. government, through its representatives to the various U.N. agencies, has not already crushed this global governance agenda is s testament to the effectiveness of the U.N.’s education program.”
Back to how to how ogres Strong and Soros, along with others, were able to hijack a world economy.
“A new Economic Security Council (ESC) would replace the existing Economic and Social Council. The new ESC would consist of no more than 23 members who would have responsibility for all international financial and development activities. The IMF, the World Bank, and the WTO—virtually all finance and development activities—would be under the authority of this body. There would be no veto power by any nation. (Italics CFP’s). Nor would there be permanent member status for any nation.”
Bloggers and website owners may recall how the Ohama campaign team seemed to have thousands of volunteers available with G-Mail accounts to send out a barrage of nasty letters any time a blog or website asked too many questions or dared to criticize “The Messiah”.
In a post January 20 world, it seems that Obama will develop his activist base from within the White House.
But in Maurice Strong’s New World, NGOs will flag the new order about truth tellers: “The Commission (on Global Governance) believes that the U.N. should protect the “security of the people” inside the borders of sovereign nations, with or without the invitation of the national government. It proposes the expansion of an NGO “early warning” network to function through the Petitions Council to alert the U.N. to possible action.” (Italics CFP’s).
Maurice Strong has had a longtime influence with the major Foundations, which provide the funding for NGOs, and he has influence with the major international NGOs that coordinate the activities of the thousands of smaller NGOs around the world.
Small wonder that Strong spends his time far away in Communist China these days.
But there is a silver lining to be found even with the darkest of storm clouds over America and something for Americans to contemplate over the upcoming holidays.
In spite of the hype coming out of the Office of the President-elect, Obama is merely a fop for the global elite. He is their, and not the people’s true agent of change.
The January 20 inauguration with its promise of 5 million observers in Washington, D.C. will be the extravaganza of a lifetime, deepening recession notwithstanding.
It is Obama’s job to demoralize the 58 million people who did not buy into his campaign and for all of those who do not want One World Order.
Starring among all the glitterati at the Inauguration Ball, Barack and Michelle are like the stick figures from a kindergartener’s drawing, for this is an emperor who truly has no clothes.
George Soros, Maurice Strong and company redefine the Middleclass
Who is attacking the U.S.? The big casualty in this 21st century U.S. civil war is the Middle Class
By Judi McLeod
Friday, September 26, 2008
The Democrat-loving mainstream media is missing the boat on Warren Buffet’s take of America’s economic meltdown as …”a sort of economic Pearl Harbor we’re going through.”
That being the case, then surely the first question should be: “Who is attacking the U.S.?”
The billionaire’s $5 billion investment in Goldman Sachs Group Inc. at the same time he’s touting the Treasury’s $700 billion bank rescue plan, should be the tipoff.
With so many banksters and fraudsters openly treating the U.S. treasury as their private piggybank, one ponders what‘s really going on.
Is wholesale market manipulation the new al Qaeda?
Unfortunately that’s a concept based far more on fact than paranoia.
The big casualty in this 21st century U.S. civil war is the Middle Class and there will be no Code Pink protests calling off the troops.
While middle class Americans have been busy putting their youngsters through school and college, pooh-bahs like Buffet, George Soros and his Canadian sidekick Kyoto architect Maurice Strong, who hangs out with the likes of Al Gore and “Now-I’m-a-Christian” Mikhail Gorbachev have been rearranging their lives for them.
For all of those middle classers understandably ignoring a propagandist press, here’s the first hint: The pooh-bahs seem mighty gleeful that the U.S. is headed toward certain economic meltdown. Make that a meltdown with or without a $700 billion bank bailout.
With world attention on man-made global warming, (also arranged by some of them), these ageing power brokers actually predicted the economic meltdown.
Buffet, Soros, Strong and their ilk aren’t, as the mainstream media would have it, new age old men able to see through the mist of crystal balls. They’re influential powerbrokers in the corridors of power, enabled by vast personal wealth, and hard at work as agents of change.
Barrack Hussein Obama is the one out in front talking about “Change we can believe in”, but the senator from Illinois is only the Pooh-bahs’ latest puppet.
We already know from the Internet that Soros has gone a long way to bankroll Obama’s campaign, but not so well known is that Soros worked in conjunction with Strong to saturate the American automobile market with the China-produced Chery.
“Like the bad guys in a spy movie, Soros and Strong teamed up on the Chery, a sort of poor man’s made-in-China vehicle, with which they hope to flood the U.S. market next year.” (Canada Free Press, June, 2006).
Is it mere coincidence that during the $700 billion bank bailout debate, the House of Representatives this week approved a $25-billion package of low-cost loans to help hard-pressed carmakers and their suppliers finance plant modernization at a time of restricted access to public capital markets?
Isn’t what’s happening in the U.S. right now what this deadly duo always advocated? Strong has been saying all along that China would someday soon replace the U.S. as world economic leader.
Described in countless media write-ups as a cross between the Wizard of Oz and Dr. No, the Canadian oil billionaire was the Secretary General of the 1992 UN Conference on the environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro where the unveiling of Agenda 21 took place and subtly began to change the world as the rest of us know it.
It was on this momentous occasion where we discovered what Chairman Mo really thought of the middleclass…”current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class, involving high meat intake, use of fossil fuels, appliances, home and work air conditioning, and suburban housing (emphasis Canada Free Press) are not sustainable.”
“With little media monitoring, Strong and Gore are cashing in on the lucrative cottage industry known as man-made global warming.” (Canada Free Press, March 13, 2007). “Strong is on the board of directors of the Chicago Climate Exchange, described as “the world’s first and North America’s only legally binding greenhouse gas emission registry reduction system for emission sources and offset projects in North America and Brazil.
“Gore guys his carbon off-sets from himself—the Generation Investment Management LLP, “an independent, private, owner-managed partnership established in 2004 with offices in London and Washington, D.C.”, of which he is both chairman and founding partner.”
So how does UN Poster Boy Maurice Strong intend to harness America’s middleclass?
This is what Strong told a reporter back in 1990, when he was describing what he called a fantasy scenario for the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland—where 1,000 diplomats, CEOs and politicians gather annually “to address global issues”.
What if a small group of these world leaders were to conclude that the principal risk to the earth comes from the actions of the rich countries?...
In order to save the planet, the group decides: Isn’t the only hope for the planet that the industrialized civilizations collapse? Isn’t it our responsibility to bring this about?
“This group of world leaders forms a secret society to bring about an economic collapse,” Strong told the reporter in painting his so-called fantasy scenario.
“It’s February. They’re all at Davos. These aren’t terrorists. They’re world leaders. They have positioned themselves in the world’s commodities and stock markets. They’ve engineered, using their access to stock markets and computers and gold supplies, a panic. Then, they prevent the world’s stock markets from closing. They jam the gears. They hire mercenaries who hold the rest of the world leaders at Davos as hostage. The markets can’t close…
Two weeks ago, financial analyst Jim Rogers said the bailout of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac made America more communist than China! “This is welfare for the rich,” he said. “This is socialism for the rich. It’s bailing out the financiers, the banks, the Wall Streeters…
Voices calling alarm include Anne Coulter:”now at a cost of hundreds of billions of dollars, middle-class-taxpayers are going to be forced to bail out the Democrats’ two most important constituent groups: rich Wall Street bankers and welfare recipients.”
Reminding the middleclass that America’s spiral into economic chaos started with President Bill Clinton, Coulter wrote: “Political correctness had already ruined education, sports, science and entertainment. But it took a Democratic president with a Democratic congress for political correctness to wreck the financial industry.”
According to Congressman Ron Paul, the $700 billion bailout is only the beginning.
“Financial institutions are “designated as financial agents of the Government”. This is the New deal to end all New Deals.”
So where does Buffet fit into the puzzle?
The world’s second richest man, worth some $44 billion, gave 85% of his wealth in July of 2006 to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
The lion’s share of the Gates foundation goes into United Nations sanctioned projects. Make that the fomenting for One World Government anti-American United Nations.
As Henry Ford once said: “It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning. The one aim of these financiers is world control by the creation of inextinguishable debt.”
Welcome to One World Government. Not only has it slipped in through the back door, it is right here about to keep you awake at night.
Creators of carbon credit scheme cashing in on it
Maurice Strong, Al Gore
By Judi McLeod
Tuesday, March 13, 2007
There's an elephant in global warming's living room that few in the mainstream media want to talk about: the creators of the carbon credit scheme are the ones cashing in on it.
The two cherub like choirboys singing loudest in the Holier Than Thou Global Warming Cathedral are Maurice Strong and Al Gore.
This duo has done more than anyone else to advance the alarmism of man-made global warming.
With little media monitoring, both Strong and Gore are cashing in on the lucrative cottage industry known as man-made global warming.
Strong is on the board of directors of the Chicago Climate Exchange, Wikipedia-described as "the world's first and North America's only legally binding greenhouse gas emission registry reduction system for emission sources and offset projects in North America and Brazil."
Gore buys his carbon off-sets from himself--the Generation Investment Management LLP, "an independent, private, owner-managed partnership established in 2004 with offices in London and Washington, D.C." of which he is both chairman and founding partner.
To hear the saving-the-earth singsong of this dynamic duo, even the feather light petals of cherry blossoms in Washington leave a bigger carbon footprint.
It's a strange global warming partnership that Strong and Gore have, but it's one that's working.
Strong is the silent partner, a man whose name often draws a blank in the Washington cocktail circuit. Even though a former Secretary General of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (the much hyped Rio Earth Summit) and Under-Secretary General of the United Nations in the days of a beleaguered Kofi Annan, the Canadian born Strong is little known in the Unites States. That's because he spends most of his time in China where he works to make the communist country the world's next superpower. The nondescript Strong, nonetheless is big cheese in the world of climate change, and is one of the main architects of the coming-your-way-soon Kyoto Protocol.
Gore is the glitzy, media approved front man in the partnership, the flashing neon lights on the global stage warning the masses of the end of Earth, as we know it, and Hollywood's poster boy for greening the silver screen.
The skeptics of man-made global warming believe that Gore and Strong have made climate change "the new religion". Climate change is not the first religion both parties have tried to make stick. Along with former Soviet Union leader Mikhail Gorbachev, Strong, currently president of the Earth Council, has been boasting of replacing the Ten Commandments with the Earth Charter, a golden rule guide for how the masses should treat the environment.
Gore, who has given sermons at the United Nations sponsored Cathedral of St. John the Divine Church in New York City, is a promoter of the religion known as Gaia.
The two environmental gurus also share a belief in radical Malthusian population reduction. According to them, too many people, particularly in the U.S. are polluting the planet, emitting excessive Freon through their refrigerators and jacking up the air conditioning.
But the conduct of Al Gore and Maurice Strong in the capitalist world is one for the books. It's a side of them that may have remained unknown had it not been for the investigative talent of the Executive Intelligence Review (EIR).
The tawdry tale of the top two global warming gurus in the business world goes all the way back to Earth Day, April 17, 1995 when the future author of An Inconvenient Truth traveled to Fall River, Massachusetts, to deliver a green sermon at the headquarters of Molten Metal Technology Inc. (MMTI). MMTI was a firm that proclaimed to have invented a process for recycling metals from waste.Gore praised the Molten Metal firm as a pioneer in the kind of innovative technology that can save the environment, and make money for investors at the same time.
"Gore left a few facts out of his speech that day. First, the firm was run by Strong and a group of Gore intimates, including Peter Knight, the firm's registered lobbyist, and Gore's former top Senate aide," wrote EIR.
"Second, the company had received more than $25 million in U.S. Department of energy (DOE) research and development grants, but had failed to prove that the technology worked on a commercial scale. The company would go on to receive another $8 million in federal taxpayers' cash, at that point, its only source of revenue.
"With Al Gore's Earth Day as a Wall Street calling card, Molten Metal's stock value soared to $35 a share, a range it maintained through October 1996. But along the way, DOE scientists had balked at further funding. When, in March 1996, corporate officers concluded that the federal cash cow was about to run dry, they took action: Between that date and October 1996, seven corporate officers--including Maurice Strong--sold off $15.3 million in personal shares in the company, at top market value. On Oct. 20, 1996--a Sunday--the company issued a press release, announcing for the first time, that DOE funding would be vastly scaled back, and reported the bad news on a conference call with stockbrokers.
"On Monday, the stock plunged by 49%, soon landing at $5 a share.By early 1997, furious stockholders had filed a class action suit against the company and its directors. Ironically, one of the class action lawyers had tangled with Maurice Strong in another insider trading case, involving a Swiss company called AZL Resources, chaired by Strong, who was also a lead shareholder. The AZL case closely mirrored Molten Metal, and in the end, Strong and the other AZL partners agreed to pay $5 million to dodge a jury verdict, when eyewitness evidence surfaced of Strong's role in scamming the value of the company stock up into the stratosphere, before selling it off.
In 1997, Strong went on to accept from Tongsun Park, the Korean man found guilty of illegally acting as an Iraqi agent, $1 million from Saddam Hussein, which was invested in Cordex Petroleum Inc., a company he owned with his son, Fred.
In that year, Gore, still U.S. vice president, was making news for "taking the initiative in creating the Internet."
The leaders of the man-made global warming movement, you might say, get around.
Meanwhile Jumbo's still in global warming's living room, but the duo with the tiniest carbon footprints on earth continue to just tiptoe past him.
Maurice Strong resurfaces in China
Maurice Strong, United Nations, China
By Judi McLeod
Friday, September 23, 2005
Little has been heard of Kofi Annan pointman Maurice Strong since his alleged ties to the UN oil-for-food scandal surfaced.
"Ou est Maurice Strong?" has been water cooler speculation for UN watchers.
Strong, whose Lost Lake, Buckhorn, Ontario property has been up for sale, hasn't been heard from since he admitted to recognizing his signature on a $1-million cheque from deposed Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein to Tongsun Park to Cordex, a now defunct company once run by his son, Fred, after having first denied any knowledge of the cheque.
Maurice Strong is alive and well in Taiyuan, China. At least that's where he was yesterday.
Strong, co-founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Earth Council Alliance, and Qu Geping, media dubbed "the father of China's environmental protection", made a joint announcement Thursday that the two sides will join efforts to promote the research, development and utilization of environment-friendly technologies in different industries worldwide.
"Strong, who is a former under-secretary-general of the United Nations, addressed the meeting, speaking highly of China's enormous efforts in environmental protection by governments at all levels, different organizations and individuals, over the past decades." (
One of the People of the Republic of China's biggest boosters, Strong believes that China will someday soon replace the United States as a superpower.
He urged China to give greater importance to the study, development and spread of environment-friendly technologies in all industries, so as to curb increasingly severe industrial pollution.
Qu, who is former minister of the State Environmental Protection Administration and former chairman of the Environmental Protection and Land Resources Committee of the National People's Congress, expressed optimism about the future of environmental protection in the country.
The government has paid close attention to the issue and China's enormous achievements in this field have drawn worldwide attention, Qu said. But serious problems still exist in the country and in some areas the problems have caused social problems, he noted.
A group of Chinese and foreign environmental experts and scholars gathered in the Mianshan Tourist Resort, in north China's Shanxi Province, to attend the annual conference of the Earth Council Alliance, which is focused on clean industrial technologies.
The Earth Council Alliance gave an award to Yan Jiying, chairman of the board of the Sanjia Coal-Chemical Company Ltd., for his "exceptional contribution to sustainable development through the innovation and utilization of clean coke technology."
Yan, the first Chinese entrepreneur to receive the award, invented a clean coke technology that minimizes coking plant pollution.
At the meeting, Strong and Qu made a joint proposal, calling for spreading Yan's invention to China and other coke-producing countries in an effort to curb rampant coking industry pollution.
Strong established the Earth Council in 1992. In 2004, he and Tommy Short co-founded the Earth Council Alliance to coordinate the cooperation of earth councils in various countries.
The Canadian diplomat has been well received in China where his cousin, Louise, a personal friend of Chairman Mao, was buried with full honours.
Meanwhile, everything is not going so well for Strong's home base, the United Nations. Sen. James Inhofe will introduce the Protection Against UN Taxation Act of 2005. The bill will request the withholding of United States contributions to the United Nations until the President certifies that the UN is not engaged in global taxation schemes.
Chairman Mo pinkslipped

Toronto-- The April 20 "temporary" leave of absence from his post as top United Nations envoy to North Korea became a permanent one for Canadian tycoon Maurice Strong yesterday. Left: UN's Catherine Bragg and Marie Okabe
UN spokesman Marie Okabe said in response to a reporter's question that Strong's contract expired last week "and has not been renewed". The admission came amid questions about Strong's connection to a well-publicized suspect in the ongoing UN oil-for-food scandal. (See: 'The Maustro' admits connection to `Koreagate Man')
In the politically correct, neutered lexicon of the UN, Strong, chief architect of the Kyoto Protocol, "has not been renewed". To the outside world, Strong has been pink-slipped.
The UN decision not to renew follows closely on the heels of Strong only last week being awarded the prestigious Order of Manitoba. Strong was one of 12 individuals awarded the Order in the Manitoba legislative building on Monday, July 15. In June, Strong was appointed to the board of directors for the $300-million Winnipeg Museum for Human Rights. One hundred million of the $300-million pledged comes from the Canadian federal Liberal government--courtesy of the Canadian taxpayer.
"Mr. Strong's office in Ottawa said he was not there on Monday and no one else was available for comment." (Globe & Mail, July 18).
Small wonder. Strong, after all is a longtime mentor and official senior advisor to Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin.
Strong stepped down "temporarily" from his post as UN pointman on the six-nation talks aimed at persuading North Korea to abandon its nuclear weapons program on April 20.
On April 21, his stepdaughter Christina Mayo resigned after a UN review discovered that she had worked for her stepfather for two years.
In a brief statement, Strong acknowledged his ties to Tongsun Park, a native of North Korea and citizen of South Korea, charged in the U.S. in April with allegedly accepting millions of dollars from Saddam Hussein's government to lobby illegally for Iraq in the U.S. on behalf of the oil-for-food program.
In his statement, Strong admitted that Park had advised him on Korean issues, but denied any involvement with the $64-billion oil-for-food program.
U.S. prosecutors said Park had invested $1-million in a company run by the son of an unidentified senior UN official.
Strong acknowledged that Park invested in a company run by his son, Fred.
Cordex Petroleums Inc., the company, which accepted Saddam's $1-million investment, was among Prime Minister Paul Martin's declaration of declarable assets, provided to the federal ethics committee on November 4, 2003. (See Saddam invested one million dollars in Paul Martin-owned Cordex).
Strong had been involved in UN environment and development measures since 1970. In January 1977, he was appointed senior advisor to UN Secretary General Kofi Annan with the express mission to reform the United Nations.
Neutral UN lexicon notwithstanding, Kofi Annan pointman and Prime Minister Paul Martin senior advisor/mentor Maurice Strong was pinkslipped at the world's largest bureaucracy yesterday.
Microscoping Maurice Strong
From the Editor

Canadian businessman and UN envoy Maurice Strong is one weird dude.
Weird in his sidekicks. Mikhail Gorbachev, for one. The former Soviet leader and the Canuck really believe they can replace the Ten Commandments with their overstated Earth Charter,
Weird in his handpicked protégés. Try Canada's Prime Minister Paul Martin, the career politician whose one and only trip to the election polls as Canadian PM reduced the powerful Liberal Party to minority status. This, after assuming the mantle left by the departure of Jean Chrétien in pomp and splendour Indian smudging ceremonies, addressed by Irish rock star, Bono. Martin's surrealistic ascension to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) had such an emotional impact on Strong that he wept.
Strong actually teared up at the mention of Martin in the PMO on Canada's state-controlled television network, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), which ran a special, called the Life and Times of Maurice Strong just three months after Martin's December 12, 2003 swearing-in ceremony. In the special, CBC reporter Ann-Marie McDonald gushed about how Strong was a special guest in the still Gorbachev controlled Kremlin and how he came away with a saber-shaped bottle of brandy from Joseph Stalin's special stock.
McDonald went on to describe Strong as "a cross between Rasputin and Machiavelli", "the Michelangelo of networking" and an "international traveling salesman with buts of paper in his pocket".
In spite of all of these monikers, Strong, McDonald said, "refuses to be pigeon holed".
You can call it weird from whence Strong came in the world of business. He was spawned by the Montreal-based Power Corporation, whose CEO Paul Desmarais is a key figure in BNP Paribas, Saddam Hussein's favourite bank and part of the oil-for-food investigation.
Martin, who was hired by Strong, got his start in business from the same source, and because of it ended up as the owner of Canada Steamship Lines. While Strong, now Martin's senior advisor in the House of Commons is Martin's long time mentor, the duo is so close that the men are, in some speculative quarters, alleged but unproven half brothers.
Strong is weird in the kind of advisors from whom he says he takes his counsel. For example, "Koreagate Man" Tongsun Park, with whom he admits he has continued to maintain a relationship, and who Strong said in a written statement, advised him on "North Korean issues in my role as a U.N. envoy." In other words, Strong was taking advice from a man the U.S. Attorney's Office is looking to arrest for allegedly accepting millions of dollars from the Iraqi government while operating in the U.S. as an unregistered agent for Baghdad.
You'd think "the Michelangelo of networking" could do better for himself than that.
Strong is weird in the kind of international assignments he lands. What really qualifies him to conduct UN reform? Precisely what credentials does Strong really have to be dispatched by UN Secretary General Kofi Annan to global hot spots like North Korea, and what is he doing when he's in China?
It is weird that Strong advocates for world depopulation schemes; tells the unwashed masses that both refrigeration and air conditioning are going to wipe out Mother Earth. It's weird that as a practicing New Ager, Strong dabbles in the occult. Weird is that he didn't know one of the largest American aquifers was sitting right under the 100,000-acre Baca Ranch in Colorado, he ran as a New Age Mecca with his wife Hanne, and that he came to acquire the property through Saudi arms dealer Adnan Koshoggi.
Weirdest of all is the spin that comes with the Maurice Strong package. The kind of spin about Strong that comes from Nicholas Sonntag, a Canadian who heads up the Beijing office of CH2M Hill, one of the world's leading environment companies. Sonntag has said of Strong's business in China: "They (China) are taking a big risk. They're determined to be the economic engine of the world. This is why Maurice is here--to help them think things through."
Why would an entire country rely on one man to "help them think things through"?
It's a kind of spin that only the pros at Fox News' O'Reilly Factor could stop. It shouldn't matter that Strong is a Canadian spinmeister when it was the Rockefeller family that gained him entree to the United Nations.
Now that a link has been proven between Strong and Park, watch for senior UN officials to begin distancing themselves from "the man with the rolodex to die for".
We can only hope that the mainline media does not forget that Kofi and Mo are the Frick and Frack of the fairytale world in Manhattan. Back in 1997, Maurice Strong's UN offices were within spitting distance, just down the hall from those of Kofi Annan's.
Even now, spin-doctor Annan is blaming everything but the UN for the oil-for-food scandal. Annan was only yesterday holding up the "He's Innocent!" placard, and complimenting Strong just for cooperating with the independent probe panel investing oil-for-food.
What choice does Strong have but to cooperate with the probe? He may be Envoy God to Annan, but not to serious investigators.
Even in Canada where he's senior advisor to the prime minister, average Canadians know little about Strong, who is remembered most for trying to use their tax dollars to purchase a Costa Rican rain forest when he was running Ontario Hydro.
Strong is out there alright, but somewhere in all the either and the fog.
In the end it could have been the weirdness of Maurice Strong as described by those media outlets Strong catalogued as believing in black helicopter conspiracies that inadvertently kept him covered in a fog.
It's time for Maurice Strong to be dragged in out of the fog and examined close up if only to ascertain who and what he really is.
Saddam invested one million dollars in Paul Martin-owned Cordex
Another Canada Free Press classic "We-told-you-so" moment

The Canadian company that Saddam Hussein invested a million dollars in belonged to the Prime Minister of Canada, has discovered.
Cordex Petroleum Inc., launched with Saddam's million by Prime Minister Paul Martin's mentor Maurice Strong's son Fred Strong, is listed among Martin's assets to the Federal Ethics committee on November 4, 2003.
Among Martin's Public Declaration of Declarable Assets are: "The Canada Steamship Lines Group Inc. (Montreal, Canada) 100 percent owned"; "Canada Steamship Lines Inc. (Montreal, Canada) 100 percent owned"–Cordex Petroleums Inc. (Alberta, Canada) 4.6 percent owned by the CSL Group Inc."
Yesterday, Strong admitted that Tongsun Park, the Korean man accused by U.S. federal authorities of illegally acting as an Iraqi agent, invested in Cordex, the company he owned with his son, in 1997.
In that admission, Strong describes Cordex as a Denver-based company. Cordex Petroleum Inc. is listed among Martin's assets as an Alberta-based company.
Cordex had a U.S. subsidiary.
Two years after taking the Park-through-Saddam one million dollars, Cordex went out of business.
On April 20, 1999,, an internet bankruptcy library states Kelly J. Sweeney Esquire of the Office of the Trustee in Denver, Col. as appointing four individuals to serve on an official creditor's committee in the Chapter 11 case "commenced by Cordex Petroleum Inc."
Strong's New Age Baca Ranch is located in Crestone, Colorado.
Indeed, according to Marci McDonald in Walrus Magazine, "Cordex Petroleums was formerly known as Baca Resources." (April 21, 2004).
…"Still, Strong has never been far from his protégé's side. Over the years, Martin has been a shareholder in at least two of Strong's companies, including the defunct Cordex Petroleums, formerly known as Baca Resources. But Strong's chief influence has been in shaping the trajectory of Martin's career–business first, politics later, the eye on the prize always. ‘My basic advice to him was, `Paul, don't try to ride two horses at once, ‘ Strong says. When it came time to move to the next horse, Strong was waiting to give him the nod at the starting gate. When Martin was ready to throw in the political towel after (Prime Minister Jean) Chretien made clear he was sticking around for another election, Strong invited the finance minister to his log retreat in the Kawarthas for a weekend of cheerleading. `I said, `Paul, you've got a big investment in public life,' Strong recounts. `You've come this far, you should stay in there.'"
According to the today's New York Sun, "the next chapter in the United Nations crisis may erupt over U.N. investigator Paul Volcker's membership on the board of one of Canada's biggest companies, Power Corporation, since a past president of the firm, Canadian tycoon Maurice Strong, is now tied to the oil-for-food scandal."
The missing facts are: Not only are Volcker and Strong hooked with the ties that bind to Power Corporation Inc., a company under investigation in the oil-for-food scandal, Prime Minister Paul Martin was launched into the business world with Canadian Steamship Lines by Paul Desmarais's Power Corporation Inc. and his predecessor Jean Chretien's daughter, France is married to Paul Desmarais' son, Andre Desmarais.
On national television last night, Prime Minister Paul Martin appealed for time in a six-minute address to the Canadian public, promising an election after the final Gomery report probing the mega-million dollar Liberal Party Adscam scandal.
Martin's public address to Canadians coincided with the very day that his long-time mentor Maurice Strong was tied to the $65-billion UN oil-for-food scandal.
Was Martin using the Adscam scandal as a distraction in a Maurice Strong Cordex oil-for-food scandal that would inevitably lead back to him?
At press time the Prime Minister's office had not returned CFP's telephone call.
Prime Minister Paul Martin may be rejected by Canadian voters when Conservative Leader Stephen Harper calls the next federal election, but not likely over Adscam.
When the Prime Minister of Canada falls, ironically he will have been taken down by his lifelong mentor, Kofi Annan pointman, Maurice Strong.
'The Maustro' admits connection to `Koreagate Man'

Kofi Annan's special envoy to Korea Maurice Strong admits he knows "Koreagate Man" Tongsun Park and even that Park invested in an "energy company" with which he was associated in 1997--but flatly denies any involvement in the scandal-ridden UN oil-for-food program.
U.S. federal prosecutors are on the hunt for Park, who was charged on Thursday by the U.S. Attorney's Office with allegedly accepting million of dollars from the Iraqi government while operating in the U.S. as an unregistered agent for Baghdad.
"Park was accused of telling a cooperating government witness in 1995 that he needed $10 million from Iraq to "take care" of his expenses and his people (DOW JONES NEWSWIRE). "The witness believed that that meant a person identified in court papers only as `U.N. Official No. 1."
Strong, got his start in the world of business by Paul Desmarais' Montreal-based Power Corporation. Desmarais is a key figure in Paribas BNP, Saddam's favourite bank, officials of which are said to be "cooperating with investigators" in the oil-for-food probe.
Strong also happens to be a power behind the throne in Canadian politics as senior advisor to adscam, scandal-plagued Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin--also launched into the business world by Power Corp.
As Kofi Annan's special envoy to Korea, Strong returns from his Korean trips to openly criticize the U.S. Strong told CBS's Dan Rather on May 26, 2004: "The single most important thing that comes out of my discussions there is the strong conviction that the country is threatened by the United States. They contend that this is the reason, and the only reason, that they require nuclear weapons."
Now that Strong's association with "Koreagate man" Park Tong-sun is out in the open, speculation about further oil-for-food players is the talk around UN water coolers.
Not lost on many is that Strong was handpicked by Annan for UN reform long before oil-for-food investigations got underway.
In denying involvement in the oil-for-food program, Strong said, "Indeed, I cannot recall a single instance in which I had any contact or discussion on the program with any of the officials responsible."
Park, who starred in the "Koreagate" influence peddling scandal in the 1970s, is back for Act 11.
"The businessman once dubbed the "Onassis of the Orient" is accused of
lobbying in the U.S. without registering as a lobbyist, which carries (a penalty) of up to five years in jail and US$250,000 in fines." (
"Federal prosecutors in New York said Thursday that Park took US$2 million from Saddam Hussein's regime to lobby for Iraq, which was under economic sanctions, to be allowed to sell some of its oil abroad under the U.N. "oil-for-food" program.
Park received money sent through the residence of the Iraqi U.N. delegation in New York, most of it in cash. Prosecutors presume that at least some of it was used to bribe a high-ranking U.N. official. Three employees of the Houston, Texas oil company Bayoil USA were also booked for providing kickbacks to the Iraqi government in connection with the oil-for-food program.
In the "Koreagate" scandal of the 1970s, Park paid millions of dollars in campaign contributions and bribes to U.S. politicians, causing schockwaves to reverberate, not just within the U.S., but also in the dicey Korea-U.S. relationship.
The irony of the man who turned the U.S. political scene on its head in 1976 returning 30 years later, only this time coming under investigation by federal prosecutors, was pointed out by the Korean mainline media.
Said to be living in Seoul, Park visits Washington twice a year, according to Kang Eun-cheol, who helped Park in Washington. Park's most recent trip was only last December.
While on American soil, the "Onassis of the Orient" is hardly the Invisible Man. When in Washington, the high-flying Park hosts friends at the toney Georgetown Club.
Described as a big-talking braggart, Park recently told Korean reporters he was involved in a number of implausible projects, including a Russian energy project, the expansion of the Panama Canal, cleaning up Chernobyl and a Taiwanese submarine building project.
Meanwhile, there seem to be bigger fish to be caught if U.S. federal prosecutors only spread their net.
