Will Secession Become a Reality?

How to Secede from the United States Successfully

The wrong diagnosis leads to the wrong remedy
A 250-pound man with powdered sugar on his OSU sweatshirt was in my office recently complaining of an infected toe. “It’s an allergy to that new BP drug,” he insisted. “My toe got red and started draining yellow as soon as you put me on it.”
A careful history and examination revealed that the patient had uncontrolled diabetes and a severe diabetic foot infection. “It’s not the BP drug,” I informed him. “It’s your donuts. If we don’t get your diabetes under control, a surgeon’s gonna have to amputate your toe or foot to save your life.”
Identifying the symptom’s easy – “my toe has an open ulcer.” Finding the cause, however, is more complex. Coincidence is not conclusive evidence. Just because the patient’s symptoms began when he started medication for his blood pressure, that doesn’t mean the med caused it. Needless to say, without discovering the true cause of his symptoms, we would never have cured it.
The greatest single threat to American liberty is… (drum roll, please)
Listen up religious conservatives: God is a greater threat to American liberty than Obama. As news spreads on the front pages of newspapers all over the country that hundreds of thousands of people have added their names to online petitions encouraging the secession of every state in the union since Obama was re-elected, and as the number of signatures grow exponentially, let’s keep the true cause of our loss of liberties at the forefront of our minds. Just because our freedoms and prosperity began dwindling dramatically when Obama took office, it does not mean that Obama is the principle cause.
Why is God a greater threat to American liberty than Obama? There are three sins that repeatedly are mentioned in the Bible as reasons God punishes and destroying nations:
1. the shedding of innocent blood,
2. the toleration of sodomy, and
3. idolatry.
Judgments are pronounced in Scripture not only against the nation of Israel – the “apple of God’s eye” – but also Gentile nations (Jeremiah 18:7-10). Nations that slaughter as many people as our nation has – almost 55 million since Roe v. Wade legalized abortion-on-demand – deserve tyranny. When we promote the toleration of sodomy at taxpayer expense to our nation’s public school children, in our federal and state bureaucracy policies, and in allowing tens of thousands of sodomites to march the city streets at annual gay pride parades (they march nude in Columbus, Ohio) – we deserve tyranny. Nations where the public proclamation of God’s law and Jesus’ lordship in our courthouses and schoolhouses can get you sued, expelled from your teaching position, or booted out of office – such nations deserve tyranny.
Tyranny is a beast worthy to be feared, but if you fear tyranny more than you fear God, you’ve not identified the proper cause of the threat to your liberty and you’re consuming the wrong remedy. You’re like an athlete who’s running the race in the wrong direction. You’re like a patient with a diabetic foot infection eating donuts to make his infection go away.
Romney is a donut
Why is this important? Most of the secession movements have been motivated by fear of what Obama’s going to do economically during his next four years in office: higher taxes, more business-choking regulation, more expensive environmental conservation measures, more gun control, more illegal immigration, and more welfare. These are symptoms, not causes of tyranny. It’s like putting a bandaid on a diabetic foot infection, and eating more sugar-coated donuts. It’s the wrong remedy. Even if Texas secedes, it will not abate the wrath of God they deserve for the shedding of innocent blood in Texas.
If Romney had been elected, the secession movements out there would be practically non-existent and wouldn’t make any headlines. Why? The same people signing the secession petitions today would have rested content with Mitt Romney. But was Romney a threat to child-killing in America? No – he ran pro-choice commercials to counter Obama’s charge that he’d recriminalize abortion. His healthcare plan when he was governor of Massachusetts included $50-copay-taxpayer-subsidized abortion. He forced Catholic charities to prescribe abortifacient-drugs or lose funding. Was he a threat to legalized sodomy? Not at all. When he was governor of Massachusetts, he gave the nation the first state to legalize same-sex marriage, and he did so by executive order contrary to the Massachusetts state constitution. He opposed the Boy Scouts forbidding active homosexuals to serve as Scoutmasters. As a Mormon, he belongs to a polytheistic religion that teaches that Satan and Jesus are brothers. Why is fear of Obama causing such an outpouring of support for secession while fear of Romney did not? Because we think a sugar-coated donut’s going to heal our malady. Because we think Obama’s the problem, not our sin. Because we fear Obama’s unconstitutional executive orders more than we fear God’s wrath.
God will sorely “mess with Texas”
When you taste defeat at the hands of an embittered enemy, when the dollar collapses due to government mismanagement of funds, when you lose your job from increased government regulation and higher taxes, when you lose your physician due to Obamacare, when you lose your right to keep and bear arms in response to crime, when you lose your right to a trial by jury in response to terrorist attacks, don’t point your finger at Obama and the socialists entrenched in Washington, D.C. The loss of our freedom is a direct result of forsaking God. With our national sins, we have made our Creator our enemy. The fear of God is the beginning of our path back to liberty.
As Jesus said, “Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear Him, which after He hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear Him” (Luke 12:4-5). This applies to nations of individuals, not just individuals: “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God” (Psalm 9:17).
The people of every state have a phenomenal reason to fear God, because the U.S. Constitution and the Word of God agree, every state has the duty to protect the innocent through the administration of justice within their lawful jurisdiction, or face God’s wrath for bloodguilt (Deuteronomy 21:1-9, Numbers 35:30-34, Articles IX and X of U.S. Constitution). The U.S. Constitution puts the duty to do justice squarely in the jurisdiction of the states. States cannot blame the feds for not letting us do what God requires us to do. Our duty to do justice is God-given; it comes from Him. The Constitution doesn’t grant it, it just acknowledges it. Man cannot revoke it. States don’t need any court’s permission to do what God commands.
The people of America, like Israel of the Old Testament, has been greatly blessed by God throughout our history with prosperity and freedom. To whom much is given, however, much is required. The downside of being “given much” is the judgment that follows if you squander it. Some of the greatest judgments mentioned in Scripture are reserved for Israel. I read the book of Lamentations last night, and was horrified by the severe punishments dished out to “the apple of His eye” – the rape, the looting, the starvation and cannibalism, the slaughter at the hands of their enemy was unimaginably horrifying. God sent prophets to warn them, but the people continually rebuffed the warnings of the prophets and persecuted them, insisting that God’s blessing on them was unconditional. Israel feared the Babylonian invaders enough to pay huge financial tributes to them, but if they had only feared God more than their invaders, they would have turned to the Lord and been forgiven and restored. Instead, they turned to Egypt for help, infuriating the God who chastened them.
I read recently about the slaughter and captivity of the “apple of God’s eye” in A.D. 70. Jesus prophesied this utter destruction in Matthew 23. As many as a million Jews were crucified in the siege of Jerusalem and the destruction of Judea. Trees lacked in the land for the wrath of the Roman army. One hundred thousand Jews were taken as slaves. Can you imagine? They had been given much, and much was required.
What can we Gentiles learn from this?
“Well, because of unbelief they [the Jews] were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear. For if God spared not the natural branches [Israel], take heed lest He also spare not thee. Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee [the Gentiles], goodness, if thou continue in His goodness, otherwise thou also shall be cut off” (Romans 11:20-22). God’s blessings – liberty being one of the greatest of them – are conditional.
Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Ohio – and all the other states that are petitioning the federal government for secession to protect your freedoms – take heed. You deserve tyranny. Your hope in a false remedy does not increase the chance of you keeping your posterity free, but is actually a greater threat to it.
Secession that is blessed by God is a means to a godly end
Is secession from the federal government justified? Absolutely. Just like my diabetic patient with the OSU shirt, sometimes cutting off the gangrenous limb is the lesser of two evils, if it fails to improve with lesser measures. States are justified in seceding from the Union, if for no other reason, as an act of self-preservation, to avoid the inevitable collapse and bitter judgment that the nation’s got coming to it.
At our nation’s founding and the central government’s birth, the states formed a contract with each other called the U.S. Constitution. The document limits the power of the federal government. The central government was to be the servant of the states, not its master. The Constitution did not limit the power of the states; it limits the federal government to specifically enumerated powers. All rights and duties not specifically granted to the federal government belong “to the states, or the people” (Article X). Like all contracts, the contract between the states is conditional. A couple may marry and promise eternal commitment and love, but if the husband violates the contract without repentance, the wife has a biblically justifiable reason for divorce, proving that even the most sacred contracts are conditional, even if the conditions are not specifically mentioned in the contract. The federal government has violated the contract, repeatedly, egregiously, for decades. States have no more of a duty to stay married to other states and submit to the usurpacious central government than that woman has a duty to remain married to the man who repeatedly commits adultery and abuses her children.
Secession was justified in 1973, when the U.S. government violated “the contract” as well as God’s law in legalizing abortion in all fifty states by immoral, unconstitutional judicial fiat. If secession isn’t justified to stop 25 thousand innocent babies from being butchered every year in Ohio, for example, it wouldn’t be justified for any reason. Secession was justified when the courts declared sodomy a right, when they said states couldn’t criminalize it anymore, and when they granted same-sex couples the right to marry. Secession was justified when the federal government prevented teachers and students from praying in public school, when they ordered Ten Commandment plaques to be taken off school property and courthouse property, when they began to persecute people of the Christian faith who spoke Jesus’ name in the public square.
Secession is justified for financial reasons – the federal government has corrupted the dollar through the “unjust weights and measures” of the Federal Reserve, with unconstitutional spending on foreign aid, corporate aid, bailouts, welfare, and with unconstitutional, undeclared wars. Secession is an act of self-preservation for the states.
However, for a state to secede for financial reasons without taking the appropriate action to right the wrongs for which the state is guilty before God reveals the motives to be improper, and God wouldn’t bless secession in that instance. States have “the log” in their own eye, and do not have the right to judge the federal government guilty for doing what they also are doing (Matthew 7:1-5). States should first right their own wrongs – “take the log out of their own eye” – and then, if the federal government forcefully tries to forbid states to prosecute child-killers, for example, secession would be blessed by God.
Did the Civil War settle whether states can secede?
The front page of Sunday’s Columbus Dispatch article quotes a professor at the University of Akron, John Green: “You cannot secede from the Union. That’s what the Civil War was about.” Well, that’s a silly argument. That’d be like Nazis telling Jews in France, “You cannot live. That’s what our successful invasion of France was about.” That’d be like King Saul telling David, “You cannot take on Goliath. That’s what the Philistine invasion of Israel settled.” That’d be like slave-masters telling slaves, “You cannot be free. Our kidnapping of you and your family in Africa decided that.” It’s an incredibly ignorant argument.
Morality and law aren’t decided by war. Might doesn’t make right. The Civil War didn’t decide whether secession was morally or constitutionally justified; it decided who won the war. The north decided to release Jefferson Davis, the President of the Confederate States of America, rather than risk a jury declaring that he had a right to secede. If secession were never justified for any reason, then the U.S. of A. wouldn’t have a right to exist. Remember that song that people sing before sporting events, you know, the Star Spangled Banner? You know that part about “bombs bursting in air”? That was a war over whether the states had the right to secede. The secessionists won and founded the United States of America.
Successful secession vs. Unsuccessful secession
A major difference between justifiable secession and what these petitions represent is the difference between unsuccessful and successful revolts and secession movements throughout history. Successful revolts are led by lesser magistrates – political leaders who interpose themselves between the tyrants and the people they are obligated to protect. Citizen-initiated and citizen-sustained “peasant revolts,” however, always fail.
In the Bible, if God wanted to bless a conquered, captive Israel with freedom again, He would raise up a judge – a lesser magistrate – to lead the way; hence the “Book of Judges.” The judge did two things: deliver Israel from tyranny, and enforce God’s law in Israel to keep Israel free. When the American colonies seceded from Great Britain, the “lesser magistates” led the way and signed the Declaration of Independence. They interposed themselves between the tyrant, King George the Third, and the people they took an oath to protect. They patiently petitioned the higher government for redress of grievances before seceding, they appealed to God’s Word to justify the separation, and they only resorted to a violent defense as a last resort. “No King but King Jesus” was the motto of the Revolutionary War.
Where are the governors, the state reps, the sheriffs, pastors, and the mayors leading the way to liberty in America? The Bible says, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn” (Proverbs 29:2). Even a successful secession movement cannot replace the need for righteous authority to protect freedom. Ungodly leaders would bring a state that seceded under the yoke of tyranny just as surely as the federal government from which they seceded. Seceding from tyranny is not what brings freedom – it’s what you “secede to” that brings freedom.
If you want freedom for posterity, signing a citizen-initiated secession petition will accomplish little. I have signed it – and I urge you to do the same, but it is a campaign to awaken the public to tyranny at best, and empty rhetoric at worst. Before any secession campaign would be blessed and successful, at the very least, states must ban abortion, as Personhood Ohio is presently trying to do in gathering signatures to amend the Constitution to protect every preborn child. When it comes to loving our neighbor as ourselves, and treating “the least of these” as we would want to be treated, “we must obey God rather than men” (Acts 5:29). We must have state leaders who will defy any tyrannical attempt to forbid them to obey God in the fulfillment of their constitutional, God-given duty to protect the innocent within their lawful jurisdiction. Secession as a means to that end would be richly blessed by God.
Jesus said it is not enough to begin a race, you must persevere to the end to receive the prize. These state and local leaders must have the courage to persevere through the desert, where their faith will be tried, until they cross the Jordan River into the Promised Land of liberty and God’s blessing. Until the states do justice for the innocent slaughtered, we deserve tyranny. Obama’s the least of our worries, because God stands against us, and we cannot secede from His government, for Jesus is King of all kings and Lord of all lords.
Dr. Johnston has written a Trilogy that provides the blueprint for a successful, God-blessed secession from the moral and financial corpse the federal government has become. The first and second novel in the Trilogy, The Revolt of 2020, and The American Tyranny of 2020, may be purchased at www.TheRevoltTrilogy.com. The third, The Uncivil War of 2020, is due out this month. Is Secession Healthy Decentralization or Divide-and-Rule?
Eric Blair
Activist Post
Monday, November 26, 2012
If the centralization of power is one of the biggest threats to human freedom, wouldn't decentralization be considered the solution? Sounds reasonable, but some say decentralization, or secession, is a divide-and-conquer tactic by the elite. So which is it?
First, a bit of background for those unfamiliar with the ruling class' agenda. All researchers would agree that the "end game" for the ruling class is complete consolidation of power into a one-world government and a one-world currency. In other words, the goal of the elite is to control all nations from a single central office.
However, individual nations are beginning to realize that their participation in larger political and monetary unions has resulted in significantly less autonomy, and secession movements are popping up everywhere in the Western world.
Greece has been talking about leaving the European Union for over a year, and now the majority of British citizens are also in favor of seceding from the EU. Likewise, smaller territories are at the point of voting in referendums to separate from their nation states. Scottish citizens will be voting on an independence referendum to secede from the UK, while the state of Catalonia has a similar measure to separate from Spain.
In the United States, state secession petitions have been filed on the White House website for all 50 states, with several already surpassing the 25,000 signatures needed to demand a response from the Administration. Originally the U.S. was established as a federation of states, each with their own sovereignty. This was until the Civil War made clear that no state was free to leave the Union, at least not without a fight.
Recently, voters in two US states sought to flex their sovereign muscles by legalizing marijuana, which remains a violation of federal law. Even more telling of overt centralization of power, the U.N. says marijuana legalization can't happen at the state level in America because of its commitments to international drug treaties. This development has some wondering if it will teach proponents of big government the dangers involved with centralization of power.
Now on to the question at hand: Is the secession movement a healthy development toward decentralization of power, or a ploy to divide-and-rule once the whole is weakened?
Liberty icon Ron Paul calls secession an "American principle" and says it's the right of sovereign territories when they feel tyranny from the federal government can't be restrained through other methods. He correctly states that the U.S. came into being by essentially seceding from England, and also points to the decentralization of the former Soviet Union as positive results from secession.
Watch the video below for his analysis of the idea: ******* *
*******
He recently wrote that a free society means your are free to leave:
In a free country, governments derive their power from the consent of the governed. When the people have very clearly withdrawn their consent for a law, the discussion should be over. If the Feds refuse to accept that and continue to run roughshod over the people, at what point do we acknowledge that that is not freedom anymore? At what point should the people dissolve the political bands which have connected them with an increasingly tyrannical and oppressive federal government? And if people or states are not free to leave the United States as a last resort, can they really think of themselves as free?
The underlying philosophy behind Paul's stance is that a bloated central government will naturally erode civil liberties, and the closer one gets to local control of issues, the easier it is to protect the rights of individuals. Thus, human freedom has a better chance to prosper under a smaller, more decentralized or localized system of governance.
The only problem, assuming the federal government would let states peacefully secede, is that you can't guarantee what type of government you'll have and who they'll be beholden to after it secedes. More on this in a moment....
It has long been known that one of the tactics used by the global elite to centralize their power is to divide a strong territory in order to conquer it under their flag. This 'order out of chaos' has been effectively used throughout history, most recently in the Arab Spring. Many researchers would also cite the breakup of the former USSR as an example of this strategy.
In other words, a strong Soviet Union, much like a strong United States, poses a threat to those who wish to control all nations with one central authority; therefore, they must be weakened or destroyed to bring about this New World Order.
In a recent article Secessionism and New World Order, noted historian and author Webster Tarpley calls secession a "crackpot" idea by the right wing who are duping people into "inevitable threat of anarchy, violence and civil war" which would usher in faster imperialism for the banking elite.
Tarpley writes:
What Ron Paul’s deluded followers do not seem to grasp is that secessionism, Balkanization, and the partition of large nations represent indispensable steps towards what they would call the New World Order. The New World Order aims at the destruction of the modern sovereign nation state and its replacement with a universal empire presided over by the International Monetary Fund, World Bank, World Trade Organization, Bank for International Settlements, and NATO ruling over a fragmented crazy quilt world map of petty, squabbling, impotent little microstates, ministates, rump states, and failed states, none of which would have enough power to oppose Exxon Mobil, J.P. Morgan Chase, Halliburton, or a medium-sized private military firm.
Ron Paul is totally on board for this kind of New World Order. He notoriously told the House of Representatives on March 13, 2001 that 'there is nothing to fear from globalism, free trade and a single worldwide currency.' These three elements are in fact the guaranteed destruction of existing nations.
Zbigniew Brzezinski’s theory of such a world prescribes micro-states and mini-states as a means of guaranteeing 'dignity,' meaning a localist, parochialist, and particularist polity for every affinity group on the planet. George Soros supports 'partition studies' at think tanks and universities to facilitate the demise of the modern state. Among reactionaries, Bernard Lewis of the British Arab Bureau has long studied methods for dividing Pakistan into four parts, Iran into five parts, and Libya into three parts, as well as for carving Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran by creating an independent Kurdistan. Iraq is already divided into three parts as a result of US occupation. The US and British have cooperated to divide Sudan into two parts.
Modern imperialism thrives on partition and Balkanization. There was a good case to be made for keeping the USSR together, minus the Baltic and Tran Caucasus states, but the nomenklatura of all the union republics decided that secession was the best way of maintaining oligarchical privilege. This was also exactly what the Anglo-American imperialists demanded. The carving of Czechoslovakia into two parts soon followed. The breakup of Yugoslavia was promoted by NATO, which then proceeded to further detach Kosovo from Serbia, placing it under criminal rule. The British have long supported separatist movements in Spain, Italy, and many other countries, and these are being activated today.
Power will do anything to hold onto power including fighting their own citizens. And when there is a genuine rift movement, the powers-that-be will either co-opt it to steer or discredit it, or they'll break it by creating as much chaos as possible in order to appear to be saviors when the dust settles.
The eurozone is currently experiencing this exact scenario. As EU nations awaken to their lost sovereignty, Brussels is doing everything they can to hold the EU together, while at the same time welcoming a certain amount of chaos for two reasons: 1) To appear necessary to provide bailouts to ensure further enslavement to the banks, and 2) To create a central EU Treasury that can levy taxes directly on member nations.
Buried in this example is what is perhaps more important than seceding from a political union - seceding from monetary unions - because that's where the real power lies. Granted, the ECB (European Central Bank), the Federal Reserve, and the IMF have very little to do with things like marijuana laws. Yet, they have everything to do with determining tax-and-spend policies of supposedly autonomous democratic territories.
The truth of the House of Rothschild banking dynasty's infamous maxim -- "Give me control of a nation's currency and I care not who makes the laws" -- proves that monetary policy trumps any form of government.
Even though former colonies of America, Canada, and Australia technically won their political independence from the Crown, the royal money changers remain in control of their private central banks. Incidentally, these bankers also have control of most influential multinational corporations as well. You know, the ones that everyone complains "own" the US government.
This is clearly spelled out in the video below:
So it's not enough to declare independence and decentralize political control without addressing monetary sovereignty. Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, made this clear at Davos this year when he made fun of suffering eurozone nations by taunting 'At least we've our own currency'.
If states in the US were allowed to secede, but do not create a new monetary system for themselves, they will be no better off than Greece or Spain in the European Union. They will be forced into large debts payable to private bankers who will demand brutal tax-and-cut packages that destroy sovereignty worse than any political authority could force in a democracy.
Tarpley adds:
If Scotland secedes, it will keep the Queen of England as head of state, and will still be subject to the Commonwealth, the European Central Bank, the European Commission, the WTO, NATO, and the International Monetary Fund. Since this is so, what is the point?
Every rational attempt to lead humanity out of the current crisis involves fighting back against Wall Street, the City of London, the Bank for International Settlements, the IMF, NATO, and related institutions. Secessionism does nothing to curb these institutions, and instead abandons any ideological or agitational struggle against them. It helps the empire by weakening the nations. It ignores the fact, long recognized by US supporters of states’ rights, that smaller entities are easier for oligarchs to control than larger entities, because in larger entities the conflicting interests of oligarchical factions tend to cancel each other out, giving the people a greater chance.
Realizing that the global ruling class eventually wants a one-world currency through which they'll control everything through debt-based money they create from thin air, they'll have to weaken or destroy the current world reserve currency - the US Dollar - and the union that it derives its backing from.
So, yes, the secession movement could very well be a ploy to divide-and-rule after all. While at the same time it is also true that smaller more localized governments are far superior to protecting individual liberty.
Although the US Constitution sought to ensure liberty at the federal level, it failed to address the details of money creation and taxation. If a new nation state hopes to protect individual liberty and economic autonomy, they must, at the very least, have a Constitution-level founding document that clearly spells out monetary policy and the limits of taxation for the optimal benefit of citizens. Otherwise, decentralization seems like a waste of time.

Fact check: Texas has both the legal and moral right to secede from a corrupt union
by Mike Adams
Thursday, November 15, 2012
(NaturalNews) The reaction to my recent article on why Texas is uniquely positioned to secede from the union and run itself as an independent nation state reveals that very few people on the internet have any real knowledge of history. (Gee, is anyone surprised that people on Facebook have no clue what they're talking about?)
For the purpose of educating those who simply don't know these facts, I'm publishing selections from the Texas state constitution that make it perfectly clear: Texas voluntarily joined the union but did not surrender power to the union. It reserves the eternal right to run its own affairs.
From the Texas Constitution, article 1, section 1:
"Texas is a free and independent State, subject only to the Constitution of the United States..."
As TexasSecede.com points out: Note that it does not state "...subject to the President of the United States..." or "...subject to the Congress of the United States..." or "...subject to the collective will of one or more of the other States..."
This means Texas has loyalty only to the Constitution, and when the federal government abandons the Constitution, Texas has no obligation, moral or legal, to recognize any government that has betrayed the law of the land (the Constitution and its Bill of Rights).
Also from the Texas Constitution:
All political power is inherent in the people ... they have at all times the inalienable right to alter their government in such manner as they might think proper.
From the Texas Declaration of Independence:
When a government has ceased to protect the lives, liberty and property of the people, from whom its legitimate powers are derived...[it is] the inherent and inalienable right of the people to... abolish such government, and create another in its stead...
From the U.S. Declaration of Independence:
....governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed...
...whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends [i.e., protecting life, liberty, and property], it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government...
...when a long train of abuses and usurpations... evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.
Ron Paul explains how secession is an important constitutional principle
"Secession is an American principle," explains Ron Paul. [see above video]
"We came together voluntarily, and a free society means you can dissolve it voluntarily," he explains.
For those ignorant people who say this is "treason," the reality is that the current federal government is treasonous in its routine violations of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights! What could be more treasonous than signing the NDAA (Obama) which denies Americans their Fourth Amendment right to due process?
Americans are hopelessly ignorant about the source of government power
Far too many Americans today are ignorant about true history. They literally believe that government is God and that the President must be worshipped and obeyed no matter how insane his actions or his violations of the U.S. Constitution. This is factually incorrect: All government power comes from the People and is granted by the People, and may therefore be revoked by the People if the actions of government betray the People.
The truth of the matter is that the U.S. federal government has no legitimacy today. As it abandoned the limits of government set forth by the U.S. Constitution, it destroyed its own legitimacy. The federal government that operates today in Washington D.C. exists only as a criminal gang that demands obedience only by threatening violence against the People and by threatening to murder Americans with secret kill lists. All due process has been stripped from the People thanks to Obama's signing of the NDAA.
The federal government recognizes NO limits of its own power and believe that states have no rights whatsoever. In essence, Obama believes he is a dictator, and his followers believe he should be dictator! "He gave us a phone," after all!
This is a very frightening situation because as history shows, a population that is routinely suppressed, denied its civil liberties, kept economically impoverished and subjected to irrational and unlawful demands will sooner or later rise up against its own government and institute a new form of government. Unless, of course, they are Obama cultists in which case they will worship economic slavery and oppression, begging for more government tyranny and abuse of civil liberties.

I met with my “intelligence insider” source yesterday, but the discussion was not about Benghazi or foreign affairs. He told me that he wanted to talk about something even more important right now, something that the federal government does not want us to talk about. Something that is shaking the “elite” to their very cores. Naturally, that certainly got my attention, as it should yours. We walked along a dirt pathway in the middle of nowhere, far away from prying eyes and ears, at least the ones we could see.
He told me about a Louisiana woman who bought a stately, two story home on an expanse of property that included a picturesque pond and cypress swamps situated directly behind the mansion. When she first moved in, she noticed a relatively small baby alligator sunning on the bank of the pond located nearest the house. Every day, the woman would hang clothes to dry on a clothes line attached to a rear pillar of the expansive back porch. Initially, it was out of respect that she would take a freshly slaughtered chicken outside with her, tossing it to the alligator before hanging the clothes on the line. As months turned into years, she began to buy fresh turkeys instead of the smaller chickens to feed the growing alligator. First it was one, then two a day.
One day when she did not keep to her normal routine of hanging clothes outside, she heard a loud banging on her back door. The banging was not the knock of a friendly visitor, but of something much more menacing. Peering out of the window in her study located at the rear corner of her home, she was horrified to see a well nourished, 12-foot long monster banging its snout against the back of the house. It was no longer the small, lean reptile she once knew. The banging was nearly continuous and becoming more incessant, as the alligator demanded his gluttonous due.
Frightened, the woman ran to her refrigerator where she had one remaining fresh turkey, retreated to her second floor rear balcony, and tossed the turkey onto the ground away from the porch. She heard the thuds of the alligator as it moved toward the food, and watched as it consumed the large turkey in one snap, then retreating to the nearby cypress swamp.
She called animal control who sent a man to survey the situation. Upon seeing the size, girth and aggressiveness of the alligator, he asked the woman why she waited so long to call. When she related the history of her relationship with the alligator, the man nearly shouted at the woman, what were you thinking! Can’t you see the monster you created?
And so it is with the federal government.
As we discussed the groundswell of support by citizens advocating their state’s secession from the United States, my source addressed the motivation behind the movement. “You know, this is one issue they are very afraid of. People are starting to wake up, and they don’t like that.”
As we walked, he appeared to be thinking out loud, asking almost rhetorically if there is a more effective approach, or perhaps one that would be needed if people were really serious about secession. “Aren’t Americans, especially the God-fearing Americans, the Christians, tired of their tax money being used and misused by the bloated federal government for things that they do not want, and to fund programs with which they don’t morally agree or need?”
He noted that Americans already pay taxes everyday to some 90 thousand different taxing entities for items they buy or use, while the taxes paid to the federal government, or federal income tax, is something totally different. He began to quiz me on my knowledge of the federal income tax system. Did you know that the federal income tax is a voluntary assessment? “Research it,” he said.
He then asked me if I knew how many court cases per year, on average, that federal courts adjudicate related to people refusing to pay federal income tax. “No clue,” I responded. Twelve, maybe 14 a year, he told me. One of the busiest years it was 28. Do you want to know why, and do want to know why we don’t hear about this low number? He paused, “because sometimes the IRS loses, and that’s not good PR for the government.”
He continued as we walked. “Don’t you get it? It’s feeding the bloated alligator, and the alligator is now pounding on the door of every American demanding more! Isn’t it time to recognize the bloat of what has been created and stop feeding the beast?”
“So, just thinking out loud, what would happen if a group of like-minded people united and decided that enough is enough, and they would stop paying federal income tax? Stop feeding the bloated beast? What would happen if like-minded state governors got on board, and stood up to the federal government, and protected the citizens of their states?”
Most assuredly, it would have to be done properly, he reasoned, with your “voluntary assessment placed in a protected trust account somewhere, but out of the alligator’s reach and held in abeyance until matters are settled.” Then he added one critical thought. “If the people advocating secession are indeed serious, why would they continue to pay federal income tax when they would receive no benefits as a result of secession? Stop feeding the beast, is this not the most logical and necessary step to secession?”
He shook his head and looked at the ground, his voice trailing off to nearly a whisper. “The federal government is funding abortions, contraception, foreign wars, and money is lining the pockets of the federal banks and bankers, to pay off a fake and unsustainable debt. Don’t Americans understand they’re feeding the beast with every tax dollar they voluntarily pay? What about the Christians in America?”
In a moment of clarity, or so I thought, I asked him about “rendering unto Caesar,” the Bible passage cited so frequently when such a topic is discussed. At that point, he put his hand on my shoulder and said, “my brother, you need to reread and understand that passage and related scriptures in their proper context.” Following our meeting, I did, and urge readers to do the same.
As we were about to part, my friend looked at me and said that things are about ready to get bad across the country, “like Hurricane Sandy bad.” He continued, “like I told you, a perfect storm is in the making. The agenda is the ‘takedown of America from within.’ You see it unfolding before your very eyes with the military, and the loss of political will by the establishment right to fight for their country. Next, it’s the economy.”
What’s our best chance? I asked.
“Well, there is fear in DC, real fear, of not secession itself, but the spirit of the people behind the secession movement. If the people figure it out in time, unite and say no more for you until you get your act together, well, like I said, it is this that they fear the most.”

One Good Thing the Reelection of Barack Obama has Accomplished
By Chuck Baldwin

A Sleeping Giant Is Awaking
Many people across the country are rightly concerned as to what another four-year Obama administration is going to accomplish. According to the UK's Daily Mail Online, "Although America carried President Obama confidently into a second term last Tuesday--not everyone is jumping for joy at the prospect of four more years.
"Tens of thousands have put their names to secession petitions in 20 states, asking that they peacefully become independent from the rest of the country.
"The documents have been lodged on a government website We The People--and Texas has almost enough people behind its petition to warrant an official White House response.
"Along with the Lone Star state, petitions were filed from Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, South Carolina and Tennessee. So keen are the folks in Georgia for a separation, that they filed their petition twice.
"Unsurprisingly, the majority of these states voted for Republican nominee Mitt Romney although petitions were also lodged in Democrat strongholds such as New York and Oregon."
See the report here: http://tinyurl.com/cj5o7ph
A report just released as this column is going to distribution states that over 675,000 signatures have been gathered from all 50 states. Plus, at least 7 states (including Texas) have accrued more than the minimum of 25,000 signatures necessary for the Obama administration to honor with a staff review.
Does anyone believe that these states are really going to secede from the union? Of course not. At least, not yet. Citizen petitions are just that. In order for a State to secede it would have to be formally declared by an act of the State's legislature and governor. Good luck finding many of those.
However, I, for one, applaud the hundreds of thousands of Americans who have signed their State's petitions for secession. If nothing else, it demonstrates the resolve and determination of freedom-minded people throughout the country who are more than "fed up."
Plus, I do believe these petitions are significant. That the federal government has become a monstrous leviathan that is trampling the liberties of the people, usurping the authority of the states, and making a mockery of the Constitution is the understatement of the year. Both major parties in Washington, D.C., are led by a cabal of Big Money, globalist elites. Barack Obama might be the point man, but he has a supporting cast of hundreds from both sides of the aisle, from Wall Street, and from Corporate America. And let's not forget labor unions, the education establishment, Big Media, and Big Religion. They are all standing in line to get their share of milk from the government teat. Hardly anyone in a position of authority and influence gives a tinker's dam about constitutional governance or the Bill of Rights.
At least Steve Stockman was elected to Congress. The undisputed champion of the Constitution and personal liberty, Ron Paul, has retired, and his absence leaves a void on Capitol Hill the size of the Grand Canyon. Steve's presence will help fill at least some of that void. Go, Steve, Go!
However, the problem is much bigger than one seat in the US House of Representatives. Washington, D.C., has become more than a monster; it is a menace; it is a plague. And it is destroying everything that was good and decent in America. Most of the problems that our states and local communities are dealing with were caused by the miscreants in Washington, D.C. And, unfortunately, instead of serving as a guardian of the liberties of the people of the several states, most State governors, legislators, senators, etc., have jumped on Washington's big-government bandwagon. So, where does that leave the people? It leaves them frustrated, fearful, angry, and signing citizen petitions for secession. Who can blame them?
Obamacare is going to bankrupt an already bankrupt nation. It's going to put sick people on an assembly-line, one-size-fits-all healthcare disaster. To get an idea of what's coming, take a close look at our VA clinics. It's going to drive tens of thousands of very competent and qualified physicians out of practice. And remember, Mr. Romney barely made Obamacare a campaign issue. Why? Because he and his staffers helped create the dumb thing. That's why.
Furthermore, most everyone is predicting that Obama will coerce the US Senate (yes, enough Republicans will go along with the Democrats) into signing the UN Small Arms Treaty. Many say that this treaty could pave the way for outlawing personal firearms--maybe even the attempted confiscation of personal firearms. Not surprisingly, the sale of guns and ammo has gone through the roof since Election Day.
At this juncture, I simply must make this studied prediction: treaty or no treaty, UN or no UN, law or no law, there are millions of able-bodied Americans all over the fruited plain who are not going to surrender their firearms to anybody. They just flat aren't going to do it! If the federal government truly wants to legitimize and explode what is now merely citizen petitions for secession into full-fledged, honest-to-God, bring-it-on, declarations of independence by numerous State legislatures analogous to 1776, let them attempt to outlaw and confiscate people's firearms. With no disrespect to my friends north of the border and overseas, this is not Canada or Australia. This is America, and we will never surrender our guns! Period!
And as an aside, a friend of mine, not in military service, just shot a bull elk over the weekend with a .300 Winchester Magnum rifle at a distance of 960 yards. One shot. One kill. And he is only one of thousands of Montanans that know how to do that. Let me ask all of the would-be tyrants in Washington, D.C., some questions: what's Montana worth to you? What's Idaho worth to you? What's Wyoming worth to you? What are the Dakotas worth to you? What's Texas worth to you? What's Arizona worth to you? What's Louisiana worth to you? What's Oklahoma worth to you?
And for all of my freedom-loving friends out there, it's time RIGHT NOW to make up your mind and decide how much freedom is worth to you, because the only thing separating you and me from slavery is "the people's liberty-teeth" (George Washington's characterization of guns). You can't make up your mind when federal troops are standing on your doorstep. You've got to make up your mind NOW. And I'm saying that there are tens of millions of Americans whose minds are already made up on this matter. Furthermore, it's time for our men and women in uniform to decide what side of the line they are going to be standing on when the order is given to seize Americans' firearms. That decision must be made in your hearts RIGHT NOW.
Add to Obamacare and potential gun confiscation an economy that everyone is saying is headed "over the cliff." Boys and girls, America is one national disaster away from a total economic meltdown, or at the very least hyperinflation. And Mr. Obama has no intention of bringing the troops home. He is as much the servant of war profiteers as was G.W. Bush. America's wars of aggression in the Middle East are only going to escalate--further devastating our economic well-being.
And all the while, Russia and China continue to build their militaries (with America's assistance, no less), salivating over the opportunity to launch a nuclear attack against us.
In addition, there is absolutely nothing I have stated in this column that is not being commonly discussed in dining rooms, restaurants, and taverns all over America. Just about everybody sees the handwriting on the wall.
If you would like to sign the secession petition in your State, the White House has a petition website where you can participate. Click here: https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petitions
I am absolutely convinced this is just the tip of the iceberg. Underneath the surface is a waking giant that is just beginning to arouse from slumber. Just exactly what this means and how it will all play out is anyone's guess. But one thing is for sure: if the federal government wants to see another Civil War, just let it begin confiscating people's guns. That's what started the first one, and that's what would start the second one.
In the meantime, these citizen petitions demonstrate that people are truly beginning to wake up. Mitt Romney would have put them to sleep; Barack Obama has awakened them. That's the one good thing the reelection of Barack Obama has accomplished!
P.S. I am happy to announce that Liberty Fellowship now has its own website.
